Thing is, you’re missing out on a lot. Same for mags that refuse to come through here because of footie tribalism. I enjoy it all, and keep footie very seperate. FTM.
having lived through newcastle for 25 years now and with many, many friends here. i bet i can count on one hand, the vocal mags who've been through for either drinks, food or a night out (but say the place is a sh#thole). it genuinely blows my mind - whilst not surprising me at all

I would never ever consider going to Saudi skunk land unless I was going to a gig getting a train or watching SAFC.

Sunderland till I die.
Always been a great night out in Newcastle
As was Shields back in the day
Don't understand people not using what the nearby areas offer . Great having a change now and again .

Way better night if you liked punk and rock music in the 80s . Biker type bars . Haymarket, broken doll ,Mayfair later on . Always netter options if you weren't a Shalamar fan

But I'm talking about 2025 not the 80's.

Anyway perhaps you should read the title of this thread again!

I've drank in Durham and South Shields before but Newcastle does nothing for me.
Used to like a night out through Newcastle about 20 years ago. The odd time I've been through in recent years I thought it was very poor.

Add to the fact I like to spend my own money in my own city. I just don't see the appeal of Newcastle. It offers little to what I need.

Saying that I'm off through there in May to see Gregory Porter.

I invited work colleagues to our engagement party nearly two years ago at Port of Call. All of them Tyneside based apart from one who lives in Yarm. They all came which I was chuffed about and all said they had a great night, but they still had a couple of digs about having to travel through. Don’t dislike them for it bit it’s just weird. The world inside the North East doesn’t revolve around Newcastle.
