Aye I know quite a few Mags who regularly demonise Trump supporters and Reform voters who fully embraced this takeover with open arms and won't hear a word said against their ownership despite the Saudi government being an extremely authoritarian, right-wing regime or the way that they have turned the club into a full-on sportswashing vehicle. People like that are the absolute worst kind of Newcastle supporter. He has a go at confronting the issues, but I don't agree with these bits:
"It is important to recognise none of this is the fault of Newcastle’s supporters."
"Again, football supporters are essentially bystanders in this, victims of the process, forced to make a series of impossible choices."
The mags absolutely, emphatically chose this. Really irritates me that they get completely off the hook for their behaviour.
this for me as well. its got everything to do with the newcastle utd fans as over 100,000 of them signed a petition begging and pleading with the uk goverment to allow the takeover to happen. He has a go at confronting the issues, but I don't agree with these bits:

This bit is good - hope his journalist colleagues who it is addressed to pay some attention:
"Blindly cheerleading journalism is undoubtedly a route to popularity, clicks, affirmation. But it also represents complicity in the process."
they couldnt give a toss mate. all they are bothered about is days like sunday and spending billions on footballersI’d like to know what the mags that get on here think about articles like this.
caulkin is a mouthpiece for the saudi govermentExcellent piece of writing from a proper journalist. The likes of Caulkin could do with reading and ruminating on what he says, and being honest with themselves.
In Germany Klopp is public enemy no.1 for taking a job with Red Bull. How can a football man like that go and work for franchise? Supporters of Mainz and Dortmund are disgusted. Even the idea of a state sponsoring a football club has fans protesting. Football belongs to the fans, not to the global elite. He has a go at confronting the issues, but I don't agree with these bits:

Let be fair in our own way we all do the same.He has a go at confronting the issues, but I don't agree with these bits:

I'd imagine they'd be upset if they could readI’d like to know what the mags that get on here think about articles like this.
"Keep politics out of sport"*this for me as well. its got everything to do with the newcastle utd fans as over 100,000 of them signed a petition begging and pleading with the uk goverment to allow the takeover to happen.
this never gets mentioned anywhere in the press its remarkable tbh

the picture of the saudi utd chairman holding the trophy in that piece makes me feel physically sick. the bloke is a vile piece of shit
Indeed there are degrees of hypocrisy in much of modern life and it's difficult to avoid unethical organisations altogether. And when one of them happens to buy your football club it's a challenge (though if it was SAFC I wouldn't give the club a penny under their ownership). However as said above, this is a murderous regime far worse than the examples you give above, using their club to actively cleanse its image, and this was something vast swathes of NUFC supporters actively petitioned for. So it's not just something they uncomfortably tolerate - they very firmly wanted it (with a few commendable exceptions). And most of the ones I speak to moan constantly that the PSR rules stop them from fully exploiting this advantage too.Let be fair in our own way we all do the same.
Who buys, fair trade coffee or chocolate? Primary, Nick & Adidas all have link to child labour. Palm Oil forest devastation, the list goes on. Most turn a blind eye just so they can eat their favourite Chocolate.
I doubt there are many Mags out there, that wouldn't swap the Saudi's for something ethically more correct, if it would put them in a similar position as they are now. But there isn't and subsequently they're going to willfully ignore the unethical practices of the Saudi government. In much the same was as someone who would prefer to get their their fashion at an ethically more suitable place than Primark but doesn't because its more expensive and the want the extra cash for drinks in the evening.
It's nuts like. It was pretty bad also that for the UK they said PIF wasn't state funded, but the opposite in the US courts too. This is all way too big for the Premier Leage/FA to handle.Saudi Arabia chosen as UN’s chair on women’s rights
The man holding up that trophy is culpable in a murder ffs !!

It's a shame that literally nobody in the NE media raises such points. There is more understanding of the issues on here than us ever discussed on regional tv or the radio. It gets a fleeting mention, a token challenge, but is quickly passed over.

It's disgusting listen to all sports broadcasts, especially boxing, money 1st 2nd and last. Every time Spencer Oliver is on talkshite he spends most of the time telling you how fabulous it is in Saudi, clear it's rammed into him to say itbecause wealth is the only thing that is idolized now. Its rank
Unfortunately thisUnfortunately media won’t put their heads above parapet , it’s gone on to long now these lot have a foothold with their wealth and promises. Like the Awld saying ‘Money is the root of all evil ‘ .
Maybe if you’re a woman suppressing homophobic individual then it is ?!?It's disgusting listen to all sports broadcasts, especially boxing, money 1st 2nd and last.
