How did Cardiff’s goal stand ?

Now that I've seen the replay it's 100% a foul. I just thought Patto was being shite, but that's 100% a foul tbf and I don't think there's any blame that should be given to him for this goal.

They really need to bring VAR into the championship, as the refs are getting worse - how would the ref not have seen that.

Not for me. I'd rather the ref cocked up than have var, I absolutely despise it. There are just as many mistakes using var but it takes ten times longer to make them. It's the one thing I'm dreading if we ever go up, it totally puts me off watching games when there is var.

Ehh 50-50.

Patto came charging in for it from the side. The attacker was almost stationary. Yeah he raised his arm in a weird way but considering Patto barged into HIM I think it would have been harsh to give a foul our way.
It’s a foul. The player has him arm against Pattos arms stopping him from getting the ball. If a defender had used his legs against a strikers legs in this manner it would be a pen

Would have been disallowed if the Championship had VAR but thought it looked very soft in real time so can see why they decided to give the goal.

Weak as piss from Patto, that "foul" could go either was. Like I said yesterday any bang average keeper would be coming with strong arms and punching that away and a slight touch on his arms wouldn't have mattered.

Costing us far to many goals.
What's funny @Keith S30S ?

That's now goals against Hull, Sheff Wed, Leeds, Plymouth and Cardiff he should have done better for, and that's just in the last couple of months.

We won't be going up with a keeper that can't command his area, is rubbish at crosses and gives the ball away so much with his kicking.

Totally disagree about Sheffield Wednesday and Cardiff. His kicking was absolutely fine yesterday.

The vast majority of people think that was a foul yesterday. Strange why you don't?

It could have been a foul, however why isn't he trying to come and punch it like most keepers would in that situation? He has no conviction and looks terrified every time a cross comes into the box.

The goal against sheff wed was comical he stood behind the bloke who scored and done his usual flap.

We need better, he's not a good goalkeeper.

He was looking straight at it too on the replay just shakes his head when our players appealed

He missed the ball before the interaction
Weak

It was a foul in my red and white eyes but Pattos starting position is all wrong ...he should be reading that better, and jumping high enough to get two good hands on it.

I'm not joining the Patto 'Pile on' but in isolation it's a an error from the goalkeeper.

im generally critical of Patto for not claiming. With his bulk he should be a battering ram and he needs to learn to punch a ball 30 yards.
i was critical of him over their goal yesterday but seeing it in slow mo he was definitely fouled and i think without Hjelder adding his weight to the attacker he'd still have had the momentum to win that one.
Punch it and its all null and void though

Thats a bit like the old irish joke " Excuse me sir , can you direct me to Dublin ? Well now if i was you i wouldnt start from here "

Agree it was a foul.

BUT.. Patto just doesn't look convincing in dealing with routine crosses (he's a very good shot stopper).

We can be certain most teams will now be targeting him with this type of cross & physical pressure.

He needs to be ready for it.
