How did Cardiff’s goal stand ?

Patterson did gesture at the ref but I guess the ref felt it was an honest challenge. I still think was a foul and I reckon if Mayenda did that we would have had it chalked off. I would still keep playing him as I'm not sure about Moore.
Yeah seeing the snippets above it deffo looked like a foul even if he had misjudged it a bit. Yes indeed, Mayenda would probs have been sent off knowing our luck 😄 I thought Moore did well when he came in but can't see the point in changing now, it would set Patto back and I think you have to take the rough with the smooth with keepers. I feel like he is being a bit harshly thought of at the mo.

There was an earlier looping cross, that would have been an easy catch - he didn’t come for it.

This was more difficult and even without the ‘foul’ he’d slightly misjudged and probably should have left

For me, that’s 4 consecutive games in which he’s contributed to a goal due to poor judgement/positioning/handling.

That said, he made a great save later on tipping a shot onto the post, which looked like a goal all day.

He’s not convincing and needs to work on his footwork and distribution

Seems we’re in the minority here. I don’t think he’s getting it even without a challenge
Conjecture.

However, the evidence that he was fouled and therefore prevented from getting to the ball is conclusive.

Case closed.
`As i said earlier, he should have punched it, If we do go up we need an experienced keeper as our 1st target, I'm not getting at Patto btw
Oh really? Who are you “getting at” then?

Foul all day and Patterson probably gets fingers on it if not fouled so Hjelde wouldn't have unknowingly headed it to their goalscorer

Ehh 50-50.

Patto came charging in for it from the side. The attacker was almost stationary. Yeah he raised his arm in a weird way but considering Patto barged into HIM I think it would have been harsh to give a foul our way.

Another win despite the referee.

That was an awful decision. Was clear as day Patterson had been fouled.
I thought it was a foul on Patto watching the match…..we had some very poor refs all season cost us top 2 my thoughts

Watching from the NE corner as the centre came in from O’Dowda the Cardiff attacker challenged Patterson with a raised right arm straight into Patterson who was knocked to the ground. The ref had a good view of the challenge . The asst ref had the bright sun in her eyes.
HT we should’ve been 3 goals up.
I heard fans on the car radio complaining, post match that Patterson should be dropped as he mishandled the ball.

A clear foul in my eyes ,leading with an extended, raised right arm attacking the goal and colliding with the goalie’s head/face and knocking him to the ground.
Opinions, I am in the same place as you you and thought he just chose the wrong option and should have come out and cleared ball and man with a punch, but a few round about me thought the same as you, but no foul for me.

He should of done a lot better and for the record I’m not in the ‘Patterson out’ camp.

This.

He totally misjudged the flight of the ball and only got finger tips to it even before he was fouled. He was never getting to it even without the foul. He should have punched it.

Attacking opposition players know to target him in the air as he makes far too many mistakes. His shot stopping is great mind and that save in the second half where he pushed it onto the post was class.

He has terrible eye to hand coordination for a goalie and makes terrible decisions when deciding to punch with one hand or catch the ball... great lump of a shot stopper but to heavy and not agile enough to make a top goalkeeper! All goalkeepers make mistakes but patto appears to be making a lot of them at the moment but as i said hes ok but thats about all and we need better ...talks of topish prem teams in for him are bollocks in my book as all round game has to many flaws in it!

I mean, I'm not his biggest fan, but terrible hand eye coordination? Did you say his reaction save against the post?

It stood because their player fouled Patterson but the ref didn't spot it. They only get one look at it in real time and from one angle, sometimes their eyes might be looking (even just for a fraction of a second) at something else. It's hardly surprising with the amount of pulling and shoving going in when crosses are coming in

He missed the ball before the interaction
Weak
Had his arm move by the contact. Foul. Simple as that.

Raised arm, impedes Patterson taking ball cleanly it’s a foul all day. Ref just missed it, the f***ing muppet.

Some people on here slate referees week after week and don't have a clue whatsoever about the laws mind.

I take it all back, that's a foul and not pattos fault
Same for me.

It looks like he'll get a slight punch on the ball until the attacker knocks his arms away. I thought the attacker got his head on it but it's clearly Hjelde who gets the touch.

Not Patto's fault.

That push on to the post was a tremendous save too. Won us the points in the end.

Only seen it live from the other end of the ground and it looked like he just missed the ball in, another flap. But seeing that again it's a foul, the bloke jumps up arm first maradona style and basically push pattos arms out of the way

Patterson possibly at fault for their goal, although I’ve seen fouls given for less, he made a great save second half.
