How did Cardiff’s goal stand ?

E Tenebris Lux

Midfield
Watching from the NE corner as the centre came in from O’Dowda the Cardiff attacker challenged Patterson with a raised right arm straight into Patterson who was knocked to the ground. The ref had a good view of the challenge . The asst ref had the bright sun in her eyes.
HT we should’ve been 3 goals up.
I heard fans on the car radio complaining, post match that Patterson should be dropped as he mishandled the ball.

A clear foul in my eyes ,leading with an extended, raised right arm attacking the goal and colliding with the goalie’s head/face and knocking him to the ground.

Foul all day and Patterson probably gets fingers on it if not fouled so Hjelde wouldn't have unknowingly headed it to their goalscorer

He has terrible eye to hand coordination for a goalie and makes terrible decisions when deciding to punch with one hand or catch the ball... great lump of a shot stopper but to heavy and not agile enough to make a top goalkeeper! All goalkeepers make mistakes but patto appears to be making a lot of them at the moment but as i said hes ok but thats about all and we need better ...talks of topish prem teams in for him are bollocks in my book as all round game has to many flaws in it!

If someone had terrible eye to hand coordination for a goalie, wouldn't that still mean they were a totally shit goalkeeper? He has had a bad spell coming for crosses lately but over the course of his time in the first team, surely you'd have him down as a plus rather than a minus?

I was at the wrong end for the Cardiff shot that hit hit the post second half but to me it looked like a great save. I think keepers have a hard time in general, their good bits get forgotten unless it's a genuine worldie but everyone remembers the bad things.

I reckon there's a decent chance Patto will play Premier League football within the next 2-3 seasons, the same as a few of the other lads. Cracking young team we have at the mo, just hope we can keep most of it together and keep building 👍

Poor decision making is making him look poor these days. Just punch that fucker man. The ball was too high to catch and he got under the flight of it. Right hand to punch it to get a little distance and then reset back in goal. Looks like teams gonna be loading the ball in every game now. Still think those are times we miss Ballard.

We complain cos he doesn't come for crosses, when he did today he made an arse of it, foul or no foul.
However maybe it shows him and this new goalie coach are working on it, progress.

At the time it I did think he had got under it, i hadn't realised there may have been a foul until the players started complaining

Patterson did gesture at the ref but I guess the ref felt it was an honest challenge. I still think was a foul and I reckon if Mayenda did that we would have had it chalked off. I would still keep playing him as I'm not sure about Moore.
