Mayenda discussion thread

We’re not battling top 2 so we’ve got 11 games to use Wilson and Mayenda sensibly. At points play them together but also rotate and rest. We can’t afford burn out or injuries and Wilson has at times looked properly cooked.

I’m the same. Feel like a stuck record. With the home games we have left we should be playing Mayenda / Isidor and 2 of Roberts / Mundle / Watson with 2 of Jobe / Neil / Rigg, and going at pace from the first whistle. In the away games we should be going with Isidor alone, 2 from Mayenda / Roberts / Mundle / Watson with Browne and 2 of Jobe / Neil / Rigg.
 
Think it was the sheff utd home game where my opinion of him started to change as he absolutely terrified them, must admit before that game I wasn't sure if he'd make it here.
At 19 he still has a lot of improving to do and as expected consistency is a problem in the short term. I think its fair to say though at least once a game he'll do something excellent where we get odd glimpse of the potential player he could become in a few years.

I think that to reach anywhere near our full potential we NEED to find a way to get both Mayenda and Isidor on the pitch at the same time. They are both just too good to drop. It's a weakness of RLB (who I love overall) that he's not tactically flexible enough to find a way to do it.
 
I actually think that this would be worth a try when everyone is healthy.
O'Nein would be free to move forward to support the midfield when we're in possession. Watson could spell Mundle in the second half, Roberts could also come on for Hume if we need a goal.
