Milan Aleksic - Confirmed

Agree he's one for next season, but still a bit odd he hasn't played a few games more for the 21s.
Think this season is about him acclimatising to England, learning the language and getting to know what being a professional footballer at our club is all about. I think he probably learns more sitting on the bench for the first team than he would playing for the u21s. Having said all that, I wonder what his match fitness is like

He's allowed to do both.

The lad clearly has quality, hes got a physical presence too, hes quick and can beat his man. Its no conspiracy though, Reg likes a strong midfield. I agree Aleksic in for Rigg could have given us more a penetrative presence recently, but both Rigg and then Browne on Friday, are people he can rely upon to form a unit.

Would like to see him get some mins coming on in the coming games like. He looks a decent player for me. But as many have said, one for next season.

He's been caught in this cycle where he's part of the first team squad and always travelling with them so rarely considered for the u21s, but not actually getting any minutes for the first team.

This season has been a massive setback in his development and he'll finish it in a worse position than he started it.

Why anyone thinks he'll be a better player next season after a year of no football is weird.

Hopefully he'll kick on anyway but if he does it will be in spite of this wasted season, not because of it.

Kids a unit and there will come a point when we need him. He's definitely a really interesting option and minutes and experience is needed

He's in no man's land a bit now ... the 21 schedule mean that he could easily start for them but jobe Neil and rigg will need rotation ...and he must come into contention now ELF is out and browne is only just getting fit

In my opinon, i would prefer strong 11 for the first 10 games, after that we can use fringe players like alexsic to play against a lesser team. It will help alot. Not all fringe players, like one or 2 fringe player in the side.

I think we're at the stage of 99% in the play-offs and only 1% of finishing top two, now 140/1 of top spot if anyone wants a punt 😉

So resting Rigg or Jobe and starting Aleksic against Cardiff is a perfect situation. He will either perform great and he becomes an integral part of our starting options or is average or poor and he drops back the bench as an emergency fill in 🤔

Feels a bit of a Mundle situation before Clarke left imo. Doesn't get much of a look in but has the chance to slot seamlessly into the team next season (if we don't go up and Rigg and Bellingham both leave)

We've started to give other squad players some minutes so I hope we do so soon with Milan. He has looked a very handy player whenever he has come on.

He needs to be playing in some of these 'dead rubber' games, just in case we get to the playoff final and have picked up two or three midfield injuries in the semi finals 🤔

We want as many players fit and game hardened, come the end of season.
We don’t have any dead rubber games.

Might be massively unlikely we can catch the top two, but we should 100% be still going for it.
