SoL To Undergo Multi-Million-Pound Investment Programme

Mental that we don't do this in the south stand and east stand.

It has been put the club several times and they plainly refuse to do it. It'll cost an insignificant amount of money and solve about 10 problems in one go..

But the likes of David Bruce doesn't attend games in the south stand, east stand etc .. he isn't subjected to the massive queues and crushes around the kiosks and toilets at half time, the plumes of tab smoke in the bogs, the massive queues for cubicles, the shit tip the ground has become, the overzealous stewarding, the shite ticketing system... These things dont effect him personally so why would he try and fix them ?

It's madness. They would make the money back in extra beer sales.

This is what annoys me when people say fans want the club to spend money etc. but won't fork out for x, y or z. The offer and experience in many places at the club just isn't great. Guess it takes time to fix things though...

They lose out on a halftime pint every match from me because it takes too long to get served.

the lack of investment has caught up with the club and they are doing something about it, obvs by the look of it some of the contractors are less than semi skilled that re carrying out the refurbs. However in the current climate we really have got to consider that we are running mega size premier league infrastructure with the costs that reflect this only receiving efl money. I would say that Sunderlands monthly outgoing costs are at least double than every other efl club (im meaning academy / stadium costs alone)

None of the board or senior managers will have any idea what it's like for ordinary match goers. I'm disappointed they don't listen to supporter feedback and act on it constructively.
Same with coffee, I’ve been taking a flask for a few seasons now. Queue most of half time for something that Baldrick wouldn’t even serve to Blackadder

I've not bought food or drink in the stadium for years.

Premier concourse is showing its age. The bogs need a refit and they need to do something to help space out the crowds pre match

They’ll be sitting in the monty suite entertaining the likes of Jude and other VIP guests. They’ll get a chauffeur in and out of the game and don’t ever mix in the concourses. It’s like those “luxury” seats at the front of the premier concourse. It’s not that they don’t know, at this point the only explanation is that they don’t care. Look at the state of the place post match with all the crowds and cars all owa
The funniest one has to be when they had teles on the concourse on 90 degree angles so if you wanted to watch it you had to stand with your head tilted sideways.
Or they have them mounted so high it’s like staring at the ceiling

Development of infrastructure is outside of the FFP rules. We have a billionaire owner, another shareholder who isn’t short of a few bob, and they have access to finance via borrowing if they need it.

The SoL is quite frankly dropping to bits. It’s aged like a half eaten pear on a mantle piece. It was built on the cheap and it isn’t half showing now. The custodians of the club should look to do something more about it sharpish before we’re totally left behind again as we were at Roker.

It’s still like luxury up there in the concourse areas compared to the concourses of the South, East and North stands. Was up there for the Springsteen gig.

Not difficult for staff and some board members to attend games in different part of the ground to experience any issues - it’s what I would do.

I thought all parts of existing infratructure spend goes against FFP - If something new gets built i.e - a new stand, it doesnt

You would like to think they would employ competent people below them to feed back on this sort of stuff. If the supporters were constantly getting at me for it, I’d make it my aim to experience the concourses before and at half time of a game.

Aye, running costs are include. Redevelop the stands and it wont

They’ve had it fed back direct to them. Dreyfus, Bruce and Davison when he was there. Dreyfus openly said if the choice was between spending money on the team or stadium it’s the team.

It was a misleading answer, similar to when politicians compare running an economy to a household.
