Booing the team off

Lot of self flagellation in here. On balance not a fan of booing but it's a football fan problem generally, if you see it as a problem or the right of fans to protest if they see fit.

Saudis were booing their team of this season after a 9 game unbeaten run when challenging for Champions League.

Man City fans have done the same this season despite 4 back to back league titles, Champions League win, etc.

In that context, are we that bad?
Best fans in the world though
Think you need to read my post above frankly....

Well I'll put it this way "frankly"

Yesterday was poor absolutely no doubt. But that was our first home defeat in 294 days and are still well on course for the play offs. Yet the players who have done so well are disgracefully booed off.

After the game there are are weight jabs at our own players.

The "support" this season mainly at home is an absolute disgrace.

I made a statement at the end that I couldn't believe people were booing off a team that has us 4th in the league and our first defeat at home.
Some little jumped up wannabee had a go at me for defending them. Sad really.

They definitely have the right to protest.

In a crowd of 40 odd thousand, is it any surprise that a few boo after a home loss to Hull? There'll be all sorts of types of people in that crowd with all sorts of attitudes to life and opinions on what makes backing the team and what is acceptable criticism. There's bound to be a few in there who see it that the team deserved to be booed off.

It was still a small minority where I was but louder than say Plymouth.

It’s more an indictment of football fans today rather than our own, as other posters have pointed out the likes of Newcastle and Man City have booed their teams off after dodgy runs when they’ve had far more to be happy about in recent times than most. I think broadly speaking football fans seem less patient these days and want everything now.

That said… I didn’t boo yesterday and don’t think I ever have tbh and while I’m not defending it, I do think yesterday was a culmination of a few different things that haven’t been going right recently and being 4th is maybe papering over some cracks that have began to show. It’s nowhere good enough to have failed to beat even just one of Plymouth, Watford and Hull at home and not play well and look like the team in 4th in one of them.

I think people are starting to fear, understandably so, that we’re in danger of sleepwalking into the playoffs and that won’t end well if we do.

I think it's also modern football. I didn't boo the team off but i booed more than maybe i ever have yesterday - all aimed at hull players endless time wasting antics. The ref should have booked the keeper in the first half, stopping the game for a lad to tie his shoelaces, it was a disgrace the entire game and infuriating. Fans who are angry are more likely to boo and whether its the opposition, the officials, the team or the result are hard to distinguish

You do nowt but slag off our support I note over the months and years.

Are you sure you're in the right forum?

I was at work yesterday so obviously didn’t boo at my iPad, but it’s hardly surprising. Personally I wouldn’t bother booing, I just walk out. I do think it’s important that the team know that level of performance won’t be tolerated though. That result has been coming for weeks.

No it's not the players don't go out to deliberately play poorly manager at fault today not the players
Both manager and players at fault yesterday. Manager hasn’t made the big decisions and changed things, but you can’t blame him for individual errors and missed chances.

Don't go then. Pretty simple. If you've lost patience and have zero interest in supporting the team or coming up with shite oooh woe is me excuses like you have then don't go.
I do go. Cos I want to go. I’m saying how I can understand how other people might be frustrated.

Yes Im on the right forum

Don't try and say the support and atmosphere at home has been good this season when it clearly hasnt been

You come on here and always say “best fans in the world though” but I don’t see anyone saying our home atmosphere/support is good?

Our away fans are top class, home is shit.
