Patto

2nd goal aside he has done OK for us, it's a bit over the top all this criticism. He is a good keeper, not brilliant but good.
Thats the problem, good is not good enough for top teams. Trafford and Cooper are very very good.
Patto's a great shot stopper, so should change sport to Hockey.
He cant pass to save his life, again last night 2nd half kicked at least 3 times out of play.
Moore needs to be brought in.

Shhh not allowed to talk about the good stuff. Lets talk about everything negative
Course you can talk about the good stuff of which and there has been lots of positives from him AND he has kept us in games. I really thought we had a really good player on our books after the play off final when he was big, strong and brave. No matter what Wycombe threw at us he dealt with it. However the last season and a half he has only been remembered for the saves he has made to keep us in it.

When can you genuinely say that he has commanded his area in the Championship and took the pressure off us when defending, coming out to claim balls that have been crossed in? Too many games we are relying on defenders winning the ball inside the six yard area in the air and us then needing to win the second ball when it lands rather than Patto coming and claiming the ball. Last night (first goal) is another example of when he has stayed at home and its cost us. It was a good ball in but he has to come through and punch. Its not swinging away from goal and he has a clear sight of the height, pace and direction of the ball. The Leeds player has headed it in 5 yards from his goal-line. He is always rooted to the spot unless the ball is looped in when he will come for it as its in the air for a long time. The second goal is a weak attempt by him when its should be a standard save and to be fair - these happen and I can accept a one off mistake which is what this was. However I cant and wont accept no obvious progress being made in addressing a major flaw in his game when playing at this level.

And as for his distribution its not even just his kicking either. He sees the whole of the pitch in front of him and his decisions are costing us - not necessarily goals but putting us under pressure. He rolled the ball out earlyish in the game to the left hand side of the box (cant remember if it was to Cirkin or not) and he put us under so much pressure as a result of Leeds high pressing and we were fortunate to not get caught with the ball. When he goes long he always plays high, long balls out from his feet into the channels aimed at the two smallest players on the pitch. We keep getting beat in the air and immediately we are on the back foot.

What were the 3? Because he only made 2 saves in the game

I'm really not sure how anyone can watch their winner last night and say absolutely none of the blame lies with him there.
100%. Somehow missed the ball completely flapping at thin air because he wasn't quick enough in his jump. The Leeds lad who scored seemed to have been able to read the cross perfectly.

Similar to the Lionel Perez situation under Reidy. Too many mistakes cost us automatics in 97/98. Replaced him with Sorenson the season after and the rest was history

Butler made a big impact too.

Reid sticking with the old guard early doors cost us promotion that season. Took Reading for him to get some of them out.

Patterson isn't costing us promotion this season either. We have a young squad which isn't quite there yet and too many players have been in and out of form, injured and not got the depth. In most other seasons before last night we'd have been 2nd with the points gained already, but we're competing against sides with much bigger budgets who are really consistent.

Gutted to lose like that but they were by far the better team tbh. Lucky winner though. Very lucky - a shanked shot goes back to the lad to knock it back in. I'm a little disappointed in Patterson though with that final goal - just needs to get a hand / fist to it!

Modern keepers have to be slim and nimble and be able to come off there line quick. Why of all the sides in top 6 have we got Neville f***ing southall
Don't know how much you saw of "Neville "f***ing Southall', but he was world class. I'd be delighted to have Southall circa '84-86 in our side.

Should be making contact with the ball for their winner. If you come for it, you've got to get a fist to it or catch it.

That said, it was a quality ball in whipped with pace. Keeper should still be intercepting it though.
Can he not get "injured" and we request a loan for an emergency keeper....
That'll only work if Moore get injured too mind.
