Poveda

Interesting that the word "humble" is used in relation to the attitude that Poveda should maintain. Perhaps he has a higher opinion of his footballing abilities than everyone else.

A number of the Lads have said what a tightly knit groups of players they are and how enjoyable it is to work in that sort of environment maybe Poveda isn't quite fitting in.

The club said it’s minor, end of story. People just love jumping to conclusions.
It’s just because he has not had chance to produce anything on the pitch yet. Should have got himself a goal V Boro but he must need more time on the pitch. Once he does supporters will be off his back.

People can rightly moan about his performances but people banging on about cancelling contracts and saying he’s a bad egg is just stupid. Hes turned up late for something and has been dealt with by the club.

It’s a minor transgression and people do need to move on from it.

However, when you’ve signed a 3 year deal, done fuck all in 8 months or so, you’d think the player would be very keen to do everything else right. Hopefully a learning curve. He’s still relatively young.

It’s funny cos I’ve turned up late for work before and had shore leave cancelled. It’s not much difference, except how high profile a professional footballer is. R

No one knows the circumstances, the club has described it as minor and it’s been dealt with. Hopefully he can knuckle down and finally show everyone what he can do.

I think he’ll get minutes tonight, off the bench. No better way to shut up a load of internet gobshites (which we all are) than performing on the pitch.

He looked like a misfit on one of those behind the scenes videos. The other players were all laughing and carrying on with the mascots and signing autographs n wotnot. Meanwhile IP is sat on his own in the corner, hood up on his hoody, staring at his feet. So far this season he's got the hallmarks of a mishire in that he's not played much and when he has he looks shite. However he's certainly got a load of time to get into the swing of things with such a long deal. Signed for us having just finished a 4 year deal at Leeds in which time he did the square root of nowt for them. A few loans out obviously.

Honestly doesn't sound like the same player who played (albeit a minor part) for us.....Dunno whats happened,
When he played, he caused defenders all sorts of problems, made some grewat runs and crosses, problem was Ashley Fletcher or some other bugger was on the end of them.

Got his slap on the wrist, hopefully thats enough for him to get his head down.

We're going to need everyone contributing to get us over the line this season.

Definitely needs to get his head down. He's 25 years old and other than a good ten game spell on loan to Wednesday he's done nowt. In 5 seasons as a full pro his total game time averages 6 x 90 a season. Looks like we've been happy to roll the dice based on the potential upside if we can replicate whatever Rohl was doing to get a tune out of him.

He was a Billy Big Bollocks when he was on loan at Blackpool. It sounds that he is exactly the same a couple of years on.

Does he come from a gypsy traveller background?
Remember thinking that when I saw the "ring bling" in the this photo when he signed.

Colombian background, hence why he's played for them
