Nissan

Don't want to be like Carling but the jobs are fucked if Foxconn take control. Their factories have suicide nets so they won't like anyone getting privileges such as wages, toilet breaks or breathing.
Yes not disputing that but we don't live in a third world country last time I checked, though admittedly we are sliding ever closer to it until someone gets a proper grip on how the country should be run and the people allowed into it...

Can't imagine NMUK introducing a no wages / toilet breaks / breathing policy and getting away with it any time soon, we had enough chew when we booted the smokers out the rest areas to a table outside in the 90's...

Pretty sure everyone would leave in short order if they did introduce any of those Foxconn measures... 🤔

Of course they wouldn't impose third-world conditions; they'd apply their general philosophy with what they can get away with here.

The 9000 job losses are earmarked for Smyrna and Canton plants in the U.S., and in Thailand.
This rightsizing will reduce headcount in vehicle and powertrain plants by 5,300 in FY25 and 1,200 in FY26, contributing to a total reduction of 6,500.
Nissan plans to reduce 2,500 global indirect employees by streamlining operations, implementing hiring reductions, and accelerating voluntary separation programs.
Nissan will achieve reductions in unit labor costs with additional measures including expansion of shared service centers by 1,000 positions and prioritized fixed marketing expenses.

That's a quick summary if you can't be arsed to read it.
Honda have made 5.6 billion $$$ profit so far in FY24

Not sure what they do, sales in the states and china through the floor, with little prospect of sales in china doing anything but falling more as the Chinese lads take more and more market share.

Competition in Europe will no doubt start to ramp up with more and more makers seeing sales elsewhere falling so becomes a congested market. With the added bonus of Chinese makers making more inroads here

I was wondering why the Nissan Ariya isn’t as popular as owt with Nissan workers n why it hasn’t took off as they’re like rocking horse shite.
Just checked them out on AT n dear me they look absolutely terrible inside n kinda look like a QQ on steroids on the outside.

Lowest spec model is 40k, simple really. Could get summit German for around the same price.
