Sunderland Hummel Equality Jersey

All these lefties saying 'imagine being offended by a shirt' yet this thread is full of lefties complaining about words they hear at matches

The irony!

The fact that you're drawing a moral comparison between a shirt promoting accepting people as they are and presumably people shouting homophobic, racist or other bigoted abuse is a good indicator that you're either on the wind up or thick as mince.

It could be close to neutral but instead the club have turned into a socially far-left political propaganda machine. That's why it's hard for me to continue to identify with a club that now represents woke global capitalism rather than Sunderland itself.

The funny thing is that this is actually a thing, but I can almost guarantee that you think it means something completely different.

I’m not sure when I would wear a shirt like that so I don’t think I will be buying one. I already have a jungle DPM bush hat so I think I’m covered.

I do wonder if I'm in some sort of parody 1970s throwback universe when I'm on this message board sometimes. We have full-grown adults posting that they don't think it's homophobic to call someone a poof because "it just means soft, they don't mean they're gay". Ha'way man. We all know it means gay, so by association by calling them poofs you're implying soft/weak players are gay and/or that there's something wrong with being gay.

Anyway, there's been an awful lot of nonsense on this thread now, I'm not sure there's much more value we can add. Certain folk don't want to live in the modern age, but certain other folk have understood that in 2025 it's nice to include LGBT+ people in support. Maybe best just leave it there.
