India v England second ODI - 8am

Smith and Bethell are injured. We didn't call up a replacement for Smith. Madness.

We're about 45 short. Absolutely embarrassing.

I know let's hit out on over 47
This side's issue is that with the lack of batting after number 6, the likes of Brook and Buttler can't afford to take too many risks early.

The sad reality is that there's a massive lack of quality in depth in English white ball cricket, which is ironic given the push it's had in the last 5-10 years.

Exactly the first paragraph is spot on

Brook didn't take a single risk until he was out.

He had Joe Root playing perfectly for him to express his talent.

He was f***ing awful. 31 from 52, it's test scoring. I like Brook but that today was a shambles.

He's had a shit winter has Brook. I'd even go so far to say he's regressed.

Just when I was expecting him to put his foot down as England's premier all format batsman as well. Hope he turns it round quick. We need him firing for the champions trophy.

We're going to have to bowl and field out of our skins here if we want to win this. 300 is not even an average score on this ground.

300 is 50 short on this ground.

After Duckett's great knock we were on target for that. Then our 3rd 50 took 69 balls. Killed our momentum stone dead. Root was out because he was taking risks to try to increase the rate instead of feeding the strike to the hitters.

The whole thing was a mess. 2 great innings and the rest were crap ( harsh on Livingston). 4 sixes in total

Yeah, the Indians are making 300 look like the old 200.

How long before we see Brendan McCullum's influence on this squad? Desperately need a rudder on this boat.

Indian bookmakers with a spot fix?
I can take getting beat off this lot but what grinds my gears is our 'English' commentators kissing their arse constantly. I get that they want IPL contracts and sucking them off comes with the gig but still narks.

God, I can't stand Swann, KP and even Vaughan. Horrible little shits who constantly get media gigs. I would much rather listen to the likes of Jimmy Anderson and Stuart Broad. Much more down to earth and relatable.

96-0 after 13 overs.

Well above the rate.

Absolutely stupid posting 300ish on this pitch and thinking you have any chance. Had to go for it and try to get 350. If you only get 250 so be it.

India already have more sixes than we got

Using the feet, hitting hard through the line, being aggressive. We were nurdling the ball around the corner for singles for about 20 overs.

I agree - Swann, Peterson and Vaughan are very poor. Swann thinks he is Bumble - no he is not. Peterson thinks he is loved by everyone - no he is a prat. Vaughan does not believe he talks any rubbish at all - most of what he says is rubbish. Yes I will take Broad, Anderson and Bumble.

Atkinson I’m just not sure about. I think his great start to his test career will prove to be not reflective moving forward. Also when he first got into the team he was 88mph sometimes touching 90mph and seems to have lost a yard.

Terrible tour up to now.

Has to be said though India are a brilliant white ball cricket team by far away the best in the world.

Already had good sides but the depth due to the growth of the IPL and talent coming through is never ending.

A couple of our players would not make their third team

By far and away is pushing it. They’ve not won the World Cup since 2011
