Alan Brazil talksport

So on the conversation he was saying on the 'project' most Man U fans don't care about the Man U women's team.

Average attendance at Old Trafford for Man U is 73,819

Average attendance for their women's side is 5537

Does that not prove his point in the context of that conversation this morning?
Please never run a business. The 67000 mens team losing 500 million quid a year.

The 5000 womens team are making money and more profit than the men's team around 250 grand profit last season.

It's the future.

But again never start a business.

Just had a scan and it pretty much is.

The same argument that it's a 'minority sport' and no one is interested. So just pipe down little women and know your place.
Have a proper scan and see there's plenty pointing out that wasn't the point being made in the clip this morning. It's was simply his point of view that the majority of Man U fans wouldn't care less if the womens side was in the plan or not. Nothing more than that.

What a strange reply.

Celebrating that fact.

Absolutely loving that ruddy faced heart attack candidate putting a women in her place

Worst thing being people who actually have daughters coming out with stuff like this. Shameful.

"Hey darling. Don't be silly and dream that one day girls might have the same sort of chances as men in football. Men are more important."
Again nothing like this was mentioned in the clip posted by the OP.

Although I agree, I do wonder to what extent that is because we aren’t exposed to it enough.

I barely have time to watch the lads, so for me following the lasses is a none starter. But I’m sure there are plenty out there who, in time, will watch the lasses if they become easy enough to follow.

I have no qualms in the women’s game getting publicity. I don’t kick off when they mention league 2 on the radio. And i would be pretty pissed off of Alan Brazil tried to shut somebody down saying “nobody gives a stuff about Bradford” when they are brought into the conversation.
It’s sh!te. Have you ever seen a game? The goalkeepers can’t even reach the crossbar and it’s like watching an U15s match.

Just needs to be called out for what it is, maybe when it gets better people will watch it.

Inferred by the responses on this thread not the clip.

"I don't care about women's football" generally comes from people who actually really really want to just put it down. Keep it down.
Even though I don't agree with them, that's their opinion whether you like it or not.
But again posters are taking offence at a clip where it was simply suggesting a large number of a fanbase, wouldn't be interested one way or another if the lasses team was included in their project. The numbers would support his view it would seem?

Which is basically "women know your place" is it not?

Not it's not. It was pretty much saying most Man U fans don't care about their lasses side, was it not?
If you put the average attendances down that proves his point maybe...... 73,000 at Old Trafford then 5,500 for the lasses side.
So ergo "women know your place"

Don't talk about women's football. Don't try to promote it. Because right now mens is more popular.

Where are you getting those points from? They aren't in what I've posted, or in the OPs original clip.
I'll spell it out then

  1. Woman tries to talk about women's football
  2. Red slug says fans aren't interested and puts her in her box
  3. People support this argument saying Man Utd mens crowd is bigger than womens
  4. Can deduce the inference that because mens is more popular then you shouldn't be talking about women's.
Hence "women know your place"

Point 1.... Listen to the clip, that's not how it started.
Point 2. You've let yourself down by a complete overreaction
Is point 3 not valid?
Point 4....Again you're overreacting and no one is saying that.

It's EXACTLY what you're saying
You've literally nothing to back that up, and you can talk about women's football as much as you like, fill your boots.

This thread isn't about that at all. It's simply someone giving their point of view that they believe a lot of Man U's fanbase couldn't care less one way or another about their lasses team
