Alan Brazil talksport

Well it was in a way wasn't it? Discussing the project to make Man U great again, which included both teams, but the point being made that most Man U fans couldn't care less about the Women's side in the context of the wider project scope.

I'm not sure why there's so much outrage at what he's said in the context of what they were talking about?
They were talking about the project ,involving the womens football team, and he was stopping the woman pundit from talking about the womens team

People who don't like women's football are up there now with vegans and people who don't have a TV licence.

Love to tell you about it in great detail even if you didn't ask.

Somewhere in the world there's a vegan, without a tv licence who doesn't like women's footy, every morning must be like Christmas for them knowing they can tell people all about it.
Probably need to take testosterone supplements as well as their need to flex their faux masculinity anonymously to strangers is a bit odd

Well he didn't though if you listen, because all three of them chipped in.
Shaban had her say, he responded and then Gabby came in as well.
You're looking for something which in reality wasn't there in the context of their discussion.

If he'd generalised and said look the whole women's game should be scrapped, it's rubbish and not sure why it gets any coverage, I'd understand the faux outrage.

To be honest the 2 of them and Ray Parlour did the roadshow tour together last year which I went to and they work together a lot, it’s the relationship they have.

Brazil is class. It’s when SA is talking about the men’s game then starts talking about a fixture coming up or something in the Women’s game without mentioning it being the Women’s game as if the mere mentioning of it not being the man’s game(which it isn’t so why try to be confusing for the sake of it)sets the Women’s game back another 20 years. Then she gets pulled up on it by any presenter worth their salt!

He really did. I dunno why you are so bothered by it

If the pundits and presenters on motd2 are b standard as you say, how are they taking over motd?
Have they took over yet??

Are you seriously trying to set they MOTD and MOTD2 hold the same gravitas?

Then again I’m speaking to someone who thinks womens football is comparable so don’t know why I bother asking.

that’s the second time you’ve suggested people are angry.

I’ve not seen anyone angry here.

Well, the presenter of MOTD2 is taking over the main show, as previously pointed-out so it must hold some sway?
Will you be outraged when it’s the weeks of one of the two women presenting?

I'm more bothered about people piling in saying it's an outrage, when it's was an opinion that in the wider context of the project (which included the womens side) that most Man U fans wouldn't be interested in that part of it. I'm not sure why that's such a controversial thing to say?

19 pages would say otherwise, and a quick glance on social media the same.

19 pages of people answering those that are putting their opinions forward with their own opinions isn’t arguing though.

Mind it would be 12 pages if people didn’t post “hate wimmenzz footie me”

They use the same presenters and pundits. So your suggestion of b standard pundits on motd2 ,means that you think the pundits on motd are b standard. So you obviously think they hold the same gravitas.

Was she trying to shoehorn them in?

"Project 150" is a plan set out by United's board, and it includes the women's team
And Brazil was explaining that it’s irrelevant to the bigger picture of the mens team.

I’m sure other things are part of ‘project 150’ as well but are mere side show to the mens team.

To be honest modern day MOTD2 has ended up being a more high profile show, as the bigger matches tend to be on a Sunday these days.

Mark Chapman and Kelly Dalglish are top presenters also.

Whatever your opinion on Alan Brazil, he's correct here. The media have to tip toe around the subject but the reality is that a tiny tiny percentage of football fans care about the womens game. It's painful at times watching male pundits have to pretend they care when discussing it on radio/TV.
A tiny % if (ahem) ‘traditional’ male football fans perhaps. Maybe only these men’s opinions count?

I suspect a lot of these same folk have real issues with strong, talented female presenters taking on the likes of Brazil, maybe coming over here and taking these proper men’s jobs. It can only feel quite threatening.

As a dad of girls who play grass roots, like it or not dinosaurs, the women’s game is only going to grow and grow and grow and I’ve no doubt that one day it will attract similar crowds to the men’s game, as it does in the States and in Asia.

Never seen a fight, witnessed any racism or homophobic abuse at a women’s match either. And for the record the level at WSL games is extremely high these days. It’s genuinely a great watch.

I ask again how much coverage did the outgoing MOTD2 presenter get in comparison to Lineker?

I’d assume the salt given you think they hold the same sway.

Still it's a fair comment to say most Man U fans wouldn't be interested in that side of the project? And it's just his opinion which seems to be shared by quite a large number, rightly or wrongly

I mean respect your opinion, but I think you're being very optimistic to say it will attract crowds similar to sides in the PL now. Surely you'd be half way there now after the successes over the last few years?

So hasn’t took over then. Maybe they’re trying to bring it up to spec but this is a daft argument as we all know MOTD has always been the main gig.

I don’t actually mind female presenters, usually easy on the eye and present as oppose to offering their silly little opinions.

What? Salt? What you blithering on about. He got loads of coverage, as he is the one taking over from lineker. Why?
