Alan Brazil talksport

The mens game is at the standard it is at due to years of investment and development. The womens game hasn't had that, and as such the standard is a lot less. It needs the investment, it needs the development in order to progress and get to a similar level.

I'll happily watch Sunderland womens, or England womens. Having said that I sold my womens Euro final tickets to watch Sunderland vs Coventry

Whatever your opinion on Alan Brazil, he's correct here. The media have to tip toe around the subject but the reality is that a tiny tiny percentage of football fans care about the womens game. It's painful at times watching male pundits have to pretend they care when discussing it on radio/TV.

Let's face it, 90% of football fans don't have any great interest in women's football.

They sometimes get decent crowds but they are selling tickets at about a fifth of the price of the men's game.

I have no problem with people calling a spade a spade.
Although I agree, I do wonder to what extent that is because we aren’t exposed to it enough.

I barely have time to watch the lads, so for me following the lasses is a none starter. But I’m sure there are plenty out there who, in time, will watch the lasses if they become easy enough to follow.

I have no qualms in the women’s game getting publicity. I don’t kick off when they mention league 2 on the radio. And i would be pretty pissed off of Alan Brazil tried to shut somebody down saying “nobody gives a stuff about Bradford” when they are brought into the conversation.

One of their players has just gone on maternity leave.

Calls for the project to be altered to avoid employing women of child bearing age

There's a fair few women's game on terrestrial TV. I notice it in passing but don't watch.

It's a bit like Scottish football in that the bigger teams are massively ahead of the smaller teams so you get regular scores of 5 and 6 nils. It's not a good look.

Again I see the odd score, like seeing Celtic win 6-0 the other night but having no interest in Scottish football either.

He doesn't really. People do care about womens football. He is totally wrong .should football just be about the superstars ? No it shouldn't. Obviously talksport is for the skyboys, if people think lower leagues, womens football etc. shouldn't be mentioned.
Nobody is OTT but compared to men's football it is largely a non event in the grand scheme of things.

What a great listen this morning.

The intolerable shebane waffling on about the Man Utd ‘project’ trying to shoe horn the womens team into it.

Brazil ‘nobody gives a stuff about the womens team’

Somebody had to say it 😂😂😂
I have little interest in women’s football but I would rather watch Rotherham Ladies 2nd eleven than listen to Brazils inane tripe. He’s an awful broadcaster and Talksport is (I stopped listening years ago but I doubt it’s improved) terrible.

Have to agree, I personally only watch it if England are in the semi/final stage of euros/World Cup or if there’s a crucial Sunderland ladies match on.

I say this as the Dad of two girls who play football.

It's a minority sport. The Man Utd will not be judged a success if the womens team win their league. It will if the men do.

It has to start somewhere though- its natural you'll get some big teams who dominate to start- hopefully as it gets more popular this will change.

Its fantastic to see the amount of girls playing football in clubs these days.

As I say above, it has to start somewhere. Just look at how far its come in the last 10 years.

And "nobody gives a stuff" is just completely wrong.
