Theres a few countries still open i thinkwindow is closed
There's making outrageous demands and then there's being fair. He is reportedly on 600 quid a week. There are other squad players earning a lot more than him, e.g. Ba 4,500, (according to reports) who will not play anywhere near as much as him over the next 18 months.
On that basis, not signing an extension now isn't outrageous, depending on what he is being offered, nor does it mean he wants to leave Sunderland. He's got 18 months, no rush, it's in his interests to play more football, establish himself as a first team regular and then negotiate his contract.
You don't know 'he wants Brighton that much'. Rather than look for a problem with a young lad, and you have no idea what has happened there, best to leave it in the past. He's still here, according to SAFC and Brighton valuations of a lad who has barely played, you'd have to think he's going to be a very good player for us.
That worked well for us when Reidy did that to Allan Johnstone when he knew he was seeing his contract out to sign for Rangers . I know he isn't a 1st team starter at present when Mundle is back but he has a big part to play for us this seasonI hope the club tell him he won’t play unless he signs a contract . Plenty of players here … many better than him who are committing their future
Also great opportunity to lose out on £13 million if what you have said doesn’t happen ie get his head down. There's absolutely no reason to think he won't get his head down. He's a professional footballer with his whole career ahead of him. Whatever happened, it's all good for Watson with him being a lad with a bright future. It would be incredible if the lad isn't just looking forward to playing football and showing what he's made of.
Those who are making a big deal of him almost signing for Brighton are putting two and two together and getting shitloads of drama. The lad almost went, it happens, nobody knows what happened except those close to him. You'll probably get someone on here who reckons they know him and know exactly what happened, which is almost certainly bollocks.
'Great opportunity and challenge for the lad now. Can he force his way into the team at the expense of Mundle.
No chance whatsoever of us losing out on £13million, whether he get's his head down or notAlso great opportunity to lose out on £13 million if what you have said doesn’t happen ie get his head down.
He'll be gone in the summer so I doubt that as he won't be starting for Brighton next seasonWatson will prove to be better than Clarke and Mundle imo
For about the millionth time. Harte isn’t his agent , nor does he work for the agency Watson is with. The bigger context here is how Harte leverages wealth for himself, his daughter and thirdly Watson.
If his parents had their heads screwed on they would be saying stick at proving yourself, there is a bigger prize than the first thing that comes along.
Harte was agitating to get Clarke away for so long that he’s made sure watsons contract is ran down.

Agree a contract then.

It's a different scenario to Clarke IMO because it's being reported there's a few mid premier league teams interested in him.Explain
Say what you want about Harte but that's his job, get the best deal and move for his client. The only thing I didn't like was when he publicly came out with something on the lines, Clarke needs to move on, which was true but shouldn't have been said. We also can 16th last season so we really can't begrudge Clarke moving to IpswichThe bigger context here is how Harte leverages wealth for himself, his daughter and thirdly Watson.

So, I've asked my AI pal what would happen with regards compensation should Tommy leave on a 'free' at the end of his contract having played up to 30 games and with this previous 13million bid on the record. This is what he says:Explain
If he can't be professional about it (your point about what he said re. Clarke refers) then the club should refuse to deal with him.Say what you want about Harte but that's his job, get the best deal and move for his client. Her right. Once he's back he has to prove playing wiseIt's a different scenario to Clarke IMO because it's being reported there's a few mid premier league teams interested in him.
If he hits the ground running again when he's fit in a month or so he'll have 2 months to impress before the end of the season.
Hopefully he can help us to promotion and then kick on again with us next season.
If not they'll be a few clubs putting offers in. A bidding war if you like.
I admit iam guessing but there feels like an indecent haste to get Watson away and I wonder if he regretted not pushing it sooner with ClarkeSay what you want about Harte but that's his job, get the best deal and move for his client. He's not on 600 a week mate. Knock it off. This isn't the 1970s
