Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

He's 18. His career and really started yet, but people want to take the money and run! I personally don't think that's the model. Think they would actually like the players we are developing to play more than a few games for us.
I just don't understand all this. I think many of us simply understand it doesn't matter what you or I think. There are much larger players in this game. I also just said I'd like to keep all our best players but the reality is, there's a price for everyone, regardless of age.

I think the before bid came in Friday I'd imagine the price the club would want for him would be over 10/15 million. You don't get much for that these days

If the club can get 15-20, they'd have done great business. If we hold onto him, good business, too.

Why bring in someone to cover mundle when we have such a great prospect as Watson? What is the hurry in getting rid of him???
If he wants to go, pointless hanging on to him until he can go for cheaper or even nowt.

Might as well cash in and move on. If he wants to be here, he’ll sign a new contract as I am certain he’ll have been offered one.

I would keep him until the summer and then offer him a new contract and aim to make him integral part of team. The lad is seriously talented.
If he wants to go, then wish him good luck and have time to pick a replacement. No point taking money now.

We'll get more money for him now than we most likely will in the Summer so not sure on the last part. If the club don't think there's any chance of him signing a new deal then it makes sense to strike a deal at an inflated price.

We are short on the left as it is. If we take the money, too late to get a replacement or would have to pay over the odds.

Folk talking about 15-20 million. Haway man Clarke was our best player and barely got that fee. Watson's played a handful of games in senior football.
