Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

I feel if we get 10M up front, we almost have to take it, maybe get a loan back offer through the end of the season? I think Watson projects as a massive player but 10M right now is a huge injection.

As I said, he’s behind Mundle in the pecking order anyway. Mundle is due back in a couple of weeks, Watson is at least a month away.

We could use that money to strengthen in other positions.
Mundle might have a set back then what? We won't use any money we would get in tomorrow

Very short term thinking

Well we aren't as we've rejected more than that today.

I give up. Like talking to brick walls on here. People convincing themselves they are right. Find it very strange.

Harte isn't his agent😂😂😂
I didn’t

My mistake, I thought we had rejected 9 up front. Very tough decision to reject that amount of money.

I also don't disagree that it's short-term but it's also seizing an opportunity that we don't know we'll get again. Will we be this close to a promotion battle again? Will Watson continue to develop at this rate? Will he get hurt again? Does he even want to sign a new deal here? I think it's incredible business to have developed a player so young and to have the ability to sell them for 10M+ and reinvest that back into the squad. Squad building is always about balancing incomings and outgoings, unless your club is owned by a nation.

Not since it won't be administered back into the squad by tomorrow.

Good post. No idea of the money offered and of watsons potential. But it’s not short term thinking to consider a bid

That's the tough bit, isn't it? The club will do what they think is best for their overarching strategy. They're smart and I'm sure they have a tipping point, one way or the other. I'll be pleased if Tommy is here on Tuesday, but I can also see the business if selling him.
