Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

No player demands to start games and blackmails the club. Just doesn’t happen
Didn’t mention blackmails.
Go back to when we wanted Broadhead. He wanted assurances he would play week in and week out. We wouldn’t give in to that. He didn’t come.

The lad is being badly advised if he is forcing a move. He won’t get anywhere near the game time he will get here. He won’t get anywhere near the leeway and support either. He will be out on loan somewhere less accommodating and helpful to his development if not right away come the summer. The move makes not a jot of sense and he will regret it within a year. Will have bumped his wage but like Clarke will have harmed his career. The wage thing is madness as if he continues to progress like he has the money and the chance at a move will surface in time. The premier league is absolutely chocker of players that have went too early and fucked their careers up.

It absolutely does like. Been reported players over the years wanting to play in x position to sign a new deal.

Didn't Duran demand more minutes at Villa to sign a new deal.

Absolutely mental if you don't think players get promises when negotiating a new deal going forward.
Theres asking for gaurantees to play more of course but going into negotiations and Demanding he must play ahead of Mundle regardless? Pack it in man. Few bells and whistles added to that story and u no it

I don't think it's beyond the realms of possibility at all for a player to ask to be first choice to sign a new deal.

Watson is also a player who took months after his 17th birthday before he finally agreed to sign his pro deal.

Its Like Harrison Jones going into contract negotiations and demands he must play ahead of Dan Neil. Load of crap.

Heard some shite like

He’s going to leave here because he’s not a starter to go and be about 4th choice at Brighton

I’m sure he’d stop here if we threw £30k a week at him.

Brighton will be able to offer that kind of money even to their 4th choice.

Hope he stays, but I think the writing looks on the wall.

Nathan Broadhead who can barely get a start for Ipswich? He's started 4 games and 6 as sub this season.

Did he drop his demands when he signed for them? 😂

He’s played 5 games or so and thinks he’s the dogs bollocks (if true).

He’s obviously a very talented lad and has a lot of potential, but should have developed here to help his career more - see Rigg for an example.
