Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

How is it baffling to see the club is developing young players to sell for decent money? Your deluding yourself man.
Where are the examples of this?
Since KLD came in, the only players that have moved on when it’s suited all parties. If this was “the way the club act” they could have made a fortune by now.

What if he wants to leave ?

Clarke wanted to .

People need to calm down

Then he will leave. I haven’t mentioned that at all.
The club but and develops young talent to sell for profit.

Man come on. The model is to buy and develop young players for profit. Nowt wrong with it if brings the club success eventually

He makes it, Brighton make a huge profit. He doesn’t, they probably break even at worst.

Not that’s strange at all in honesty.

I'm not talking about Brighton. I'm talking about Watson and Sunderland.

He's 18 years old man, a lad from a mining village, still a bairn, barely old enough to buy a pint, needs his mates and family around while he's still growing up. There's plenty of time for him to spread his wings.

As for us, if the club rates him, selling him now would be daft as he'd be worth much more in a few years time.

Will be highly surprised if this goes through.

We are trying to emulate Brighton not be their feeder club.
We should be able to keep Watson happy financially and in terms of career development.
Brighton are loaning their young talent out to likes of Leicester…. There is no way Watson plays for Brighton.
However if he’s refusing a contract ….. but we don’t know so it’s all conjecture

Why does Watson want away?

Yes, he can probably make more coin the short term but, as Jobe and Rigg have demonstrated, you’ll get more minutes here. The coin will follow later.

Adios Tom Watson, we will get way less than his market value too given the club still live in 2005 when it comes to player valuations.

Don’t be so fooking daft.
The only thing that is skewed is the idiots sitting at home calculating what they think
Players are worth.
The majority of fans treat clubs like fifa or football manager.

I’m not a great lover of our model however if it means we sell and replace with equal or better to move the club forward than so be it. We should have zero interest in the funds. We don’t pay players. 100 million or five.
What counts is progression.
Sell Clarke. Get mundle is the model.

Given over with the devaluing players. Let people who know what they are doing manage that.
Seems to be working eh?

Still doesn't make sense.

Brighton bid 2 million in the summer, that would suggest that a transfer wouldn't be any more than 5 million.

What does 5 million get you these days in the English market? Not a great deal. It wouldn't be enough money to make it worthwhile for 'the model'.

It will be premature to sell watson now as Brighton buy players they think will grow in value and 5 million is a snip for watson....we need to keep him and benefit later from the cream not the skimmed milk.

He looks permanently scared shitless unless he’s on the pitch!

So the last thing the lad will want to do, if he’s got any sense, is up sticks at 18 to the other end of the country to be one of many and not involved in and around the first team squad here.

Silly move for all parties right now. The kid has got learning to do and the best place for that is he and not in Brighton u23s or load at Colchester or some such place.

The club needs to look after the lad with a decent contract if they see him as a long term part of the club. And I think they do.

As I said. Forget a Money -
If you can’t…
Five million would pay the wages of enzo for three years?
Feel better? Make sense?

We don’t know what is going on.i don’t care. I want better players and progression.
Have we class coming through like Watson? Do you know?

Also the club are very private. I’ve a great source, he knows nothing about lots of shit have been spouted about prices and transfers.
One thing is a fact. Nothing gets leaked our side.
