*~*~* Sunderland v Plymouth match thread *~*~*

I don't think we're a top 2 team looking at the performances and as you say the mentality. Too many times we go defensive, sit back, invite pressure from very poor teams and drop points
People look at the table and the points totals. Fair enough. I look at the performances on the pitch.

4 teams are in this but one is way stronger than us, Sheffield are above us even with a points deduction, Burnley, who never concede just smashed bottom of the table 5-0 meanwhile we haven’t put a team to the sword since Wednesday and just let Plymouth get a comfortable draw against us at home cos we were shit scared of them.

We are the most likely team to finish 4th out the 4 teams fighting for autos imo.

Still an incredible achievement but compared to the start of the season, missing out on promotion would be incredibly disappointing.

I can understand starting Samed, as he's got to play at some point, and may well be needed. Today was, in theory a game to ease him in, try something different, rest Rigg after he's come back from injury. Samed didn't cause us to draw that game.
Tbh i think Samed was ok , apart from if he did get a shout when he turned into trouble. Not very inventive, but he is probs just concentrating on not making mistakes atm.
The problems were not playing Mayenda thru the middle from the start, to share the load with Wilson and give him more space. Neil and jobe not seeming to quite know what their roles were. The biggest problem being RLB not being able to change things from 25 mins when it was obvious that things weren't going right. Plus going all defensive when 2 -1 up.
Not helped by mr dependable Mepham having a bad day at the office.

here's a lovely thought. Imagine the last game of the season..or at the play off final at Wembley and we are one up as it goes into the last 10 minutes with promotion at stake

That'll take a few years off all of us.
