Another nail in the coffin for Clarke with Ipswich signing Enciso. McKenna continuing his managerial policy of throwing enough shit at a wall and seeing what sticks.
 
It's interesting comparing the data of the three players in question.

Something that stands out to me is the reason we have so much more data about Clarke is not just because he was here for a longer time but also because he rarely got injured despite being chopped down on a regular basis.

He had a natural fitness and robust quality. We have two players covering his absence and they are both injured.
 
I think Mundle is ahead of Clarke at the same age. I also think Mundle is better defensively than Clarke. He’s more robust. Watson will undoubtedly end up having the best career out of the 3. He’s up there with Rigg for potential.

Yes, nearly all signings have relegation pay cut clauses in their contracts. But even his reduced pay - if Ipswich are relegated is likely to be way above the championship level of pay (for clubs without parachute £ millions). Leeds and S'otons wage bills were in the region of 40M last season, Leicester's a lot higher. Median championship was just above 10M iirc.
