We are back

We still have another 3 weeks to make our intentions clear, ELF was a great 1st step - let's see what the rest of the window brings, quietly confident come February we will be stronger.

This is the statement signing of KLD’s tenure. I think it signals that as a football club we are back and ready to compete again. It’s been a slow building process but now ready to go all out to get back to where we belong. The gears have been changed.

Seems like a great signing of intent! Let’s not get too carried away though. Shit loads of football to be played, with plenty of twists and turns yet.

We need a couple more astute additions for me at RB & RW to rotate Roberts & Hume.

I’m happy with Wilson & Mayenda up top, but an addition there would be icing on the cake.

Full Strength + if Samed and Le Fee both turn out to be better than we’re expecting, even if we miss out on top two you’d be pretty confident we’d have enough to win play offs.. personally would like a winger/forward in

thatll be some bench Ballard Alese Rigg Samed Mayenda Browne Watson

To be really going for promotion I still think we need a right back, a right winger and a striker.

If we dont get those we will effectively playing on luck that we don't get injuries in those areas.

................Patterson..............
Hume..Mepham..O'9..Cirkin
......Neil......Le Fee....Jobe...
Roberts......Isidor....Mundle

Subs from: Moore Ballard Alese Seelt Hyelde Samed Rigg Aleksic Aouchiche Browne Mayenda Watson Abdullah Poveda New CF

HMS Piss The League, the engines are running
Get rid of the bomb scare then that is looking pretty solid.

It's a lot of eggs in one basket like.

If we don't go up we get dismantled.

If we do we got a canny chance of staying there with the young talent we got.
Same for any championship club though - just look at the players Leeds had to sell this summer. That’s why you have to go for it when the opportunity is there - won’t get many shots to build a first XI this good in the future without parachute payments…

I hope and pray you are correct
Great post marra
How many times ? ( and I’m a happy clappa following the lads for 60 year)
Anyone who isn’t backing the lads the morra in person needs to have a re think Shirley
We are going up !

Yes. We are shite regardless. So might as well try to enjoy it.

There is a lot to love about the current Sunderland team. More than there has been for a very long time. Some of the players we are watching now could become all time greats.

But there are also a lot of people determined to buy the brasso before they have won the trophy. Need to take a breath and get some perspective.

That's what I mean. I think. Don't go up this year then we lose a load of players that ££ can't replace easily.

I remember similar being said when we made the statement signing of Will Grigg, just hope there isn't too much pressure and expectations put on this lad.
You're missing the bigger picture. This signing is all about competition, which always makes everyone raise their game. Our midfield is already top-notch, but this just makes our bench even stronger. They will all look over their shoulder and improve.

Think about it. They'll all get a chance to play, keeping everyone fresh and ready to go. Plus, we've finally got Salis (Samed) healthy, remember how excited we were about him? And who knows, maybe Rigg gets a shot on the right wing and gives Roberts a run for his money.

This move opens up so many possibilities. Even if he doesn't impress it increases standards. I doubt he is anything like the Grigg signing.
I hate the way that people tempt fate

Just be miserable and expect rain clouds. Anything else is a bonus

Has no-one learned anything from watching Sunderland?
I know when the tides are turning. We are here my friend. If not this season it will be next. I'm 42 years old (younger than a few) but have seen enough ups and downs of our club. Enjoy the ride and think positively. :)
