Milan Aleksic - Confirmed

If RLB has his doubts about AA then I'd like to see Aleksic given some game time. Even if AA starts, he's unlikely to last 90 mins so we must be about to see some more of this lad. He can't get upto pace and learning the English game sitting on his arse.

We're repeatedly told every single one of them has a bespoke plan designed to integrate them whilst still achieving decent results and it's working. Our league position tells us that we're reasonably successful in doing so.

People's desire to see the new lads is understandable mind, although I remain far from convinced it should become a factor in terms of our approach. Our gaffer's job is on the line here, his decision.

That's bullshit. I've posted a few times...my brother had some crack on with Aleksic outside The Hilton after the Oxford game....he could hold a conversation no problem.
I think people assume that because they know no other languages, that an 18 year old Serb wouldn’t know English. It’s widely taught and understood around Europe.

He’s also from the northeast can speak English knows all the players can understand the mananger and his team mates and will already be mates with half the team
Spot on

Most people seem to completely ignore or at least massively underestimate this, the lad is a highly rated talent - be patient.

His little cameo at Millwall is all I've seen of Aleksic but I thought he looked a bit like Aouchiche ie a 10 or someone who drifts in off the left & finds pockets of space to create things. Not saying he won't develop into more of an 8 but he doesn't look like a player who can slot straight into Riggs position & allow us to keep the same formation.
I do think he could have been getting minutes on the left though in the absence of Mundle & Watson. I'm not a fan of Mayenda out there, he doesn't link up with Jobe on the left & play those triangles that are a big part of our game plan on both sides. I would have been starting Aouchiche with Aleksic coming on personally.

I actually think the most natural Rigg replacement is Harrison Jones. He's played mostly as a 10 where he can influence games in the attacking 3rd but due to injuries he played deeper in cm back end of last season & looked just as good. This season the u21's have often replicated the 1st teams 433 & he's played as one of the 8's. I rate him highly & the club obviously do too given the new contract but he's another one that really should have been getting integrated from the bench & would be a big ask to throw him straight in from the start today.

Not aggressive at all mate just sick of hearing the same stuff over and over , we clearly have a process and for once are in a position where we don’t need to just toss new young lads in the deep end
By the deep end are you referí g to the first team or the u21s as I personally don’t think Aleksic playing in the u21s at this minute is the deep end. If anything I think it is better than sitting on the bench watching football. For some reason he is the only young player we have signed from overseas where we have did this therefore some fans are questioning the reasoning behind this strategy of signing a young player to sit on a bench.
I reckon a few lads got Aleksic on their tops
I think my comments on Aleksic were fair. I mean some fans think the actual strategy and procession planning is what is up for debate when all I’ve said is that I find it strange why the lad Aleksic has been signed and just sat watching football from the bench when it would be more beneficial to integrate him in via the u21s if he isn’t ready yet. Seems fair enough to me.

You had one job mate. Reply with “after the amount I drank on Boxing Day…”

It’s odd he’s been on the bench quite so much yet not used like.

Exactly.

Le Bris will not give Aleksic regular game time unless he is convinced that not only he will be able to produce going forward, but that he will do the defensive work too and knows exactly what his role is in the team.

Have to admit, if he’s only on the bench to make up the numbers I’d rather Middlemas was there. He’d add something from the bench.

At the minute I think, reading between the lines, it isn’t so much he isn’t playing as nobody really makes a difference on our bench.

To be honest him being on the bench isn’t a bad thing, but for me I just find it odd how he isn’t playing at any level at the club. Other young players have been brought in over the last few seasons and have went into the u21s.

Definitely odd that like. Most of the time if a lad is on the bench he’s at least been in the U21s.

Even the lads coming back from a long lay off have a few matches at that level before coming back.
