Mayenda discussion thread

Keep ya head up son and keep doing what your doing 👏👏

Good post. He's demonstrated this season that he's a handful. He's no winger so not his fault he's being played out of position, can't think of that many centre forwards who scored boatloads of goals who would make a good winger.

Reckon the manager would be better off playing 4-4-2 at this point.

I thought he was poor yesterday especially first half. His first touch is extremely bad for a professional footballer. He would be nowhere near the starting 11 for me
Whole team was poor first half so why single him out?

He is young and being played all over LW, RW, CF. He is an outlet and has pace and is unpredictable which scares the shite out of defenders

I do think he is better on RW or CF than he is on the left

Ridiculous the comments I’ve seen over the last 24 hours. Calling him shite , useless etc.
Was obviously poor when he went 1 on 1 but the lad defo has talent.

Always forward thinking. Brave when he gets the ball and tries to make something happen every time.

Felt really sorry for him at full time. Was scared to even come over to the Sunderland fans. Thought he had a good game overall.

Keep ya head up son and keep doing what your doing 👏👏
Read the live match threads ,second by second ,non stop twisting and moaning, taking the piss out of players . don't mind a bit constructive criticism but its just cringe for the most part !

Fine for you to call Ekwah a 'pansy' though?

Game, set and match.

And Mayenda was getting pelted yesterday because he was poor all game, not just for that miss. Can’t blame him, he’s just nowhere near good enough at the moment. Managers fault for picking him. Drop him and give him more time.

Isidor missed one similar last week and didn't receive half the stick mayenda is getting. Keep yer head up young'n!

He's just not very good m8 . That run through on goal yesterday was awful he may as well of just passed it to the keeper to save his energy . Didn't even get a shot away being clean through was the most frightening thing about it . This is our back up striker if Wilson gets injured
He has huge pace and strength for an 18 year old and he’s not Harry Kane at this point - give the kid a break ffs 😟

i disagree ,he looks strong and with pace coming down the left and gets to the line for cutbacks and corners .He gives us a bit pace even if its to stretch the play and allow people to get forward .I think the chance yesterday wasnt him at all as he's normally quite aware of people around him

it will be the gammon contingent

Last seconds of the game, racing through from the half way line: sometimes you can have too much time to think about it.
I was right behind the goal in the upper tier and thought he should have slotted it under the keeper on approach, but all players miss chances and I thought he was decent yesterday.
haaland missed a penalty...he's shite anarl it would seem
Say what you like about Mayenda but never, ever slag off Maximus ‘Pele’ Power, lads.
aye but Max is white

I don't think the lad is ready to be starting regularly at this level yet but it serves no purpose other than knock his confidence getting on his back after a miss like that.

I like him. Direct. Always makes himself available for a pass. Plenty pace.

The one on one was awful however. Did nothing. Just ran into the keeper. I’m sure he’ll learn from it but it was very frustrating.

Ha Ha he is getting younger,20 in may.Thing is everyone is arguing about someone who wont be starting soon .Mundle will be 1st back, then we have our recruitment team champing at the bit for next Wednesday, flush with the Clarke money.

I hope you’re right. He’s being played out of position, albeit out of necessity, and IMO he’s exposed. His confidence will get hammered and there’s a danger that any potential will be eroded. I’d rest him to the bench and use him as a swap for Isidor for now.
