Mayenda discussion thread

He was clearly knackered when he ran through. Before yesterday all over the place people were calling for him down the middle and isidor out. What a difference a games makes.

He's our third choice left winger and third choice striker. He's good enough for both and will get better from all the game time
I’d say he’s 2nd choice striker but also probably 3rd choice right winger. A great option to have off the bench but not ideal as starting yet.

Last seconds of the game, racing through from the half way line: sometimes you can have too much time to think about it.
I was right behind the goal in the upper tier and thought he should have slotted it under the keeper on approach, but all players miss chances and I thought he was decent yesterday.
The bottom line is he wont score anywhere near enough goals for us to progress .

Ridiculous the comments I’ve seen over the last 24 hours. Calling him shite , useless etc.
Was obviously poor when he went 1 on 1 but the lad defo has talent.

Always forward thinking. Brave when he gets the ball and tries to make something happen every time.

Felt really sorry for him at full time. Was scared to even come over to the Sunderland fans. Thought he had a good game overall.

Keep ya head up son and keep doing what your doing 👏👏
He has talent there's no doubt about that but he shouldn't be starting games for a team pushing for promotion in the championship at the moment. Last season he struggled to get in the team while on loan at Hibernian.

Fairenough mate

I don't agree with the slagging of players, especially young lads.

Should of done better with that chance though, didn't even get a shot away it is disappointing.
I also don't agree with the slagging off of players (before anyone goes scouring for past posts, there's bound to be something, somewhere, where I've slagged off a player - probably McFadzean).

Mayenda's effort yesterday just looks to be a lack of experience thing and, maybe, a technical failing as he favours his left, but, at no point was he able to get the ball onto his left foot. Had he managed to get it onto his left, he may have just pinged it in.

"Scared to come over"
Fine for you to call Ekwah a 'pansy' though?

Oooooffff:lol:

He's just not very good m8 . That run through on goal yesterday was awful he may as well of just passed it to the keeper to save his energy . Didn't even get a shot away being clean through was the most frightening thing about it . This is our back up striker if Wilson gets injured
FFS, he’s a young kid and a really good prospect. Sod off with that shite man , it’s not needed.
So is Wilson shite then ? Cos he missed an identical chance last week.

He wouldn't be starting if our first 2 LW options were fit. Did well for us starting up front at the top end of the season though.

People went to town on him in the matchday thread, in the heat of the moment. Me included. Just gutted he didn’t do anything with the chance. No big touch, no early hit. Fans were rightly in the heat of the moment frustrated. I don’t think he’s had any extreme levels of negativity

If true he wouldn’t go to fans at full time I assume it’s just cos he was gutted

Par for the course. Has been same with O’Nien, Neil, Bellingham, Patterson, Roberts…..it is a place for inadequates to vent their frustration at their own lives.
All of our squad is talented. People are finding it ever harder to find a reason to moan. Latest craze seems to be RLB and his subs. Some people would twist on 21.

Agree with most of this but thought he kind of waited till last and got a good reception. He just had a brain fart. It happens

I've seen it. Grow up man ffs, he wasn't scared to come over at all man. Says it all about football nowadays and some supporters.
Mate you’re one of the most negative moaning people on this whole forum. Bet you love it when things like yesterday happen so you can get on here wingeing .
