Max Power

I'm not taken in by anything you buffoon.

Your reply shows it's you that does not understand. I specifically said I wouldn't hate any player that tries. If they are not good enough that's on the coach that selects them and the people responsible for signing him.

If I was picked to play I'd try my bloody hardest but I'd be crap. That's not my fault I was chosen and wouldn't want to be hated by fans for it.

Sympathising for shit players now, my word. He was gutless and summed up that period of our history perfectly, taking a good wage despite being lightyears from where the minimum standard should be.

Met him twice
He was very genuine in his respect for the club and fans .The fact that he’s taking his lads to watch his former club just emphasizes that.
Well done Max

Met him and Charlie Wyke shortly after they both joined. Both genuine lads who were desperate to do well for us. Which both did, some if not all of the time. We've improved and moved on, that's all.

If you’re taken in by a bloke aimlessly running around for 90 minutes in a vain attempt at looking like he was trying and being passionate, that’s up to you. I wasn’t taken in, he was utter shite and he is a stark reminder of the dark days of League One.
You seem like a nice chappy, even for a wum mag.

Funny marra -that’s who he was with when I met them
Even offered to get me a coffee ..big Charlie was canny fella as well

“Yeah but he wasn’t that bad compared to some of the others in League One”. They were nearly all shit, just varying levels. Let’s not revise history because the bloke is going to a football game near his familial home.
I get your point but not hoping someone is miserable.

Always remember He was driving to the Ground from the AOL, think it was raining or bad weather and He stopped to pick up a couple of Fans waiting for the Bus going to the Match....... Although a scouser (Lol), He seemed to be a genuinely decent fella and although not blessed as being the best footballer to pull on our Famous Red and White Shirt , He gave his all for the Lads with the limited Talent He had...Good Luck to Him and His Family, obviously Sunderland Fans!!!

Any player who gave their best and respected our club/city/fans deserves the same level of respect back. Max Power tried his best, had some cracking games and also had a few poor ones. So did many players in that league one squad. Any issues with that team should be pointed towards the owners of that time.
Good honest lads who were/are proud to play for us and gave their all should be applauded not abused (the Charlie Wyke abuse baffles me - what more could that lad do?).
Plenty of shitbags who deserve some grief include N’Dong, Djillabodji, Kone, Rodwell et al. Max Power does not!
