That’s a really odd takeaway from this conversationThose in favour of expanding in the name of concerts and other nonsense should just do everyone a favour and admit that they just want a bigger ground than Newcastle

What's odd is wanting to extend a ground that never sells outThat’s a really odd takeaway from this conversation
Does “23 times a year” not give you the clue that we have a massive structure that is massively underutilised?
Hence the new grounds built today including hotels, conference facilities and restaurants etc etc
No, but we could if we add to/improve the corporate and hospitality offerings. Which we should be looking at anyway, as other than the Quinn's Bar redevelopment, we are way behind the times when it comes to that side of the business. We're not suddenly going to host loads more concerts by adding 10k seats![]()
Agree. Its stone radged. What's odd is wanting to extend a ground that never sells out
Me as well mate I had just dried off from Saturday . Up until Roberts scored and Ballard had a great chance to win it I was wishing I had stoped in with a fish lotI was disgusted at the turn out until a realised I would have been one of them sitting watching it in the house had my 12 year not insisted on going!
Because it would give us 15m quid extra per season as a starting point. That’s every penny we get from football crowds doubled. That can be spent on the football club. Ideally spent well and into the premier league and up. I am not particularly saying increase the capacity more the corporate side but more seats would help attract it. Then who knows we might start using the seats as well. Yeah we do well out of them but we can do better, we lost the Taylor swift gigs over this. The artists hire the ground based on what they can make. So 10k extra seats at what is now 100/200 quid a ticket is 1 or 2m extra in revenue for the artist and that’s before the 400/500/1000 pound a ticket extra corporate stuff. Can’t wrap my head around you thinking the club shouldn’t be massively into this. The more stuff at it the better for the football team.
What's the source for this 15m extra? Have you made it up?Because it would give us 15m quid extra per season as a starting point. That’s every penny we get from football crowds doubled. Why are people so blinkered to assuming any expansion is going to be tens of thousands of seats!?
Stub hub. Yes, useful for exiles like me with season tickets but who couldn't always attend. Club should resurrect that in PL. I'd buy one in a shot and would influence loads others.Because in cup games, Nufc season ticket holders often don't go.
Their seats are filled by others.
Can I ask they also have a sell on service.
Like we used to.
What's the source for this 15m extra? Have you made it up?
No why would I make it upWhat's the source for this 15m extra? Have you made it up?
Let’s see…You're kidding yourself if you think the ground is going to have any use outside of football.
But we currently have concerts already that will obviously earn less than that. So doing the upgrades wouldn't make you 15m extra per season as we probably already make a third of that on the few we do.No why would I make it upYou must be logged on to see external linksthat’s one of any number of reports. This one states next summer they have 6 gigs by 4 artists. There is no suprise that they added more seats and corporate recently and now suddenly have loads of gigs. 15m is from the estimated 10m I see ( this report is 7 to 9.5) plus the fact they had 2 nights of pink. Fair to assume 5 gigs make you 15m
So with improved facilities we can make more money .But we currently have concerts already that will obviously earn less than that. So doing the upgrades wouldn't make you 15m extra per season as we probably already make a third of that on the few we do.
Did you miss the bit where we lost out on big money gigs due to the lack of hospitality areas? But we currently have concerts already that will obviously earn less than that. So doing the upgrades wouldn't make you 15m extra per season as we probably already make a third of that on the few we do.
Yep. I'd agree. No one is arsed. The debate is around corporate infrastructure ultimately. One or two only talking about seat expansion only. That’s a really odd takeaway from this conversation
Aye let's extend the stadium so that midweek games look even worse than they are FFS. We shouldn't have even extended to 48k in my opinion.
Hospitality areas i can see. But you've also got numpties on here wanting to put the capacity up to 60k at the same time 'because we may as well future proof'.Did you miss the bit where we lost out on big money gigs due to the lack of hospitality areas?
