SOL expansion

I maintain my stance in this.
What's our highest cover average gate?

What's our highest ever average?
When the hard core dont turn up, the seats remain empty.
Nufc for instance have loads who will slip in ifvthe hard core don't attend.

We've peaked.
Explain this nonsense in particular please (the rest is nonsense too by the way). You are saying that at NUFC when people don't show up there are others waiting to 'slip in' to take their place? How does that work exactly? And how the fuck would you know?

.Leeds well Ken Bates removed around 4000 seats to put boxes in wonder if we will do similar,

Loads of empty boxes last night.
Premier league a different beast. Although obviously I'm assuming there are gaps on our offering. If demand not there either that is worrying. However, as others have pointed out, concert demand could be a good income stream for us so perhaps we need to consider that?

Because we'd be expanding the stadium purely for concerts and for the 23 times per year it's actually used for football we'd be sitting in an even more empty, soulless place. We do well out of concerts as it is. We're the number one stadium concert venue in the NE anyway.

Also I'm not sure how much more money would go to the football club through concerts if we added 10k seats that would remain empty when we play football matches.

The artists hire the venue from us. They keep the ticket money.
Does “23 times a year” not give you the clue that we have a massive structure that is massively underutilised?
Hence the new grounds built today including hotels, conference facilities and restaurants etc etc

Without blowing smoke up their arses they have a massive membership list that apply for tickets on a game by game basis. I have mates on this and sometimes they get tickets but more often they don’t. But anyway based on the small sample I know, those on the membership list would be very keen to snap up a season ticket were it to become available

Why didn't they get one when 10k were available for free?
🤔

Yet weren't interested pre Saudi when you could get tickets on day.....

That's not what he was wittering on about though. He was suggesting when people can't be arsed to turn up that there are lurkers waiting to take their place in the stadium. And I was wondering how on earth that works.

I think Man Utd have some system whereby ST holders are threatened with losing their ST if don't show up regularly!

We're not suddenly going to host loads more concerts by adding 10k seats

Because in cup games, Nufc season ticket holders often don't go.
Their seats are filled by others.
Can I ask they also have a sell on service.
Like we used to.

I was shocked at last nights turn out and atmosphere Going for promotion young side playing canny football and it was like being at a funeral .

A ground extension would be barmy our support is dwindling not increasing . thousand have got out of the habit and are now supporting from afar
I was disgusted at the turn out until a realised I would have been one of them sitting watching it in the house had my 12 year not insisted on going!

Because it would give us 15m quid extra per season as a starting point. That’s every penny we get from football crowds doubled. That can be spent on the football club. Ideally spent well and into the premier league and up. I am not particularly saying increase the capacity more the corporate side but more seats would help attract it. Then who knows we might start using the seats as well. Yeah we do well out of them but we can do better, we lost the Taylor swift gigs over this. The artists hire the ground based on what they can make. So 10k extra seats at what is now 100/200 quid a ticket is 1 or 2m extra in revenue for the artist and that’s before the 400/500/1000 pound a ticket extra corporate stuff. Can’t wrap my head around you thinking the club shouldn’t be massively into this. The more stuff at it the better for the football team.

I’ve also said this before but will repeat myself. Pretty soon we are going to have one of the biggest film/tv studios is the country with all types of people and money that comes with that. These people are going to want stuff to do and have money to spend. Make sure they spend it here and are not up at Newcastle doing it

Fuck knows.they probably pass it on. Although recently a few hundred have had their season tickets annulled for doing that by all accounts

Those in favour of expanding in the name of concerts and other nonsense should just do everyone a favour and admit that they just want a bigger ground than Newcastle
