*~*~* Sunderland v Bristol City match thread *~*~*

We're hemorrhaging points from games where we should be out of sight by half time if we turn our opportunities into goals. That can't be allowed to continue if we're genuinely trying to gain promotion. We were 5 points ahead not too long ago so what has changed? Losing Watson yesterday deflated the team and the support but that's just one game. Barring Leeds none of the teams we've played have looked able to deal with us...until the second half. Are we buying our half time oranges from an Arabic gentleman named Bin Saud?

I watched the highlights of Leeds game and their players make space for the ball to be played through the 'channels'.
They could get the ball playing from the back up to their forwards in half-a-dozen passes whereas it takes us that number to get it to our midfield, who then fanny about with it and then do a hopeful ball over the top to no-one. We need at least a proper centre-forward and some competent coaching staff if we are going to make the play-offs.

Think we suffered from the fact that they got battered by Portsmouth. Think it made them more cautious and determined not to be loose at the back.

Aye teams rarely get battered twice in a row in this league, apart from Plymouth. As soon as I saw they got stuffed like Turkeys and were apparently all at sea at the back that it would be back to basics and cup final mentality vs us.

Isidor was weak as piss last night
He certainly went over a couple of times to easily, but he almost got on the end of one chance, had the header which was well saved and laid it on a plate for Rigg and Mayenda when they got in each others way.
He can't buy a goal at the minute and was up against 2 hulks with not much support. Overall, I don't think he was the problem last night and will come good again.

Def not the main problem but it annoyed me he kept going down with the slightest bit of contact and wasn't really in the game at all. Agree, needs a goal

Trouble is we all compare him to Ross Stewart who could play a lone furrow and was as tough as teak. I don't think he will ever be that, but he has pace and a nice touch and if you give him good service he will still get you goals (IMO).

He's not a centre-forward, Ross was!

I've already said I don't go anymore. Twice. You pissed you bulls lug?
No, but you're a tiresome gobshite. As I've explained twice now. I'm sure you're aware as someone who seemingly spends all day every day on here but doesn't go to the match, as you're seemingly having a hissy fit about the club and KLD.

Plus points are that we got out of jail at the end through Roberts (who had been bloody awful and not in the game to this point, however he was starved of any service from Rigg or Bellingham) , and Auchiche was very lively when he came on.
That’s very unfair on Roberts. He was quiet from 45-65 when we were a complete shambles, but in the latter period of the game, when we actually got the ball to him, he was causing them all sorts of problems.

At no point was he “bloody awful”.
