Jack Clarke

When we played ipswich at home last season never in a million years did I think they were capable of getting promoted automatically. I actually thought they looked like relegation candidates... they look dead certs for it this season!
So you really thought on the evidence of one game(with 45 games to go) that Ipswich looked relegation candidates ?🤷‍♂️

Without sounding like a cliche, we had two players ready to step up and take Jack's place. Someone was interested, and we sold for a large profit. Thats how we operate, and with the right signings the club will move forward.
It's as if we have some kind of operating plan, an archetype perhaps, you could call it a framework, a template, or even, a model

Possibly the poorest signing we’ve made, watched him a lot for you and he genuinely looks like a different player now. Most players get better under McKenna but he’s really been thrown into a team that is struggling.

We’re going down as must of us thought. The outside media/podcasts really skew perception. George Hirst has been a real miss for us, would be pretty confident of 5/6 more points if we hadn’t have had to flog Delap every week. We’ve not been hammered yet but games against Arsenal/chelsea over Xmas are worrying. There’s not that much between the bottom 6 in terms of quality. Everyone else in the league had some sort of parachute/ prem money/ players from past prem seasons other than us so being competitive is a fair effort.

That said, the journey is better than the destination

Completely agree with you there.
They were winning until he came on today tbf.
Didn't realise he'd played, LiveScore reckon he didn't come off the bench.

I've only seen bits of their games but he isn't used in the same way as here, he seems to tuck in to let the LB have the space ahead.

Think he is PL quality, but is being used really badly by Ipswich. It's like they didn't watch him at all while he was here.
Think its been a bad move... and their fans have not been to supportive of him. All those nightmares of his time at spurs most possibly coming back to dog him... you have to wonder what does he need to get his game back on track... hope he sacks off harte

Seems like Ipswich signed Clarke without a plan for getting the best out of him, played him in fits and starts, played him narrow, put him on when his main job will be to defend.
