Tommy Watson ( ...off to Brighton)

Was much better last night and think he's a great prospect but despite playing well there wasn't much end product. We badly missed Cirkin and Mundle down the left.

Was much better than Roberts who has been extremely frustrating all season.

Incredibly some on here thought he was shite

Not read that anywhere. Just Questions about if he was ready yet for a promotion pushing team.
However For him to be our best player last night is an exciting development, but kids are notoriously inconsistent.
inconsistency does not get you promoted. This is the issue we have across the team apart from in defensive roles

Mundles injury will be the making of this lad.
Had their defence worried all game - should have taken the penalty considered he has a lovely right foot and takes the corners/free kicks as well.
Roberts stifled him. I get why he wanted it as he needs a goal also, but he should’ve let the young lad have it as he won it fair and square IMO.
If Watson takes that penalty we win 3-0 imo.

High hopes for Tommy. I thought he was very good last night.

I think once Cirkin gets back, we will see that left side look really threatening. It’s the right hand side that is a big concern.

Did Watson try to take it?

He needs time and patience to add goals to his game. The problem is that the experienced player on the other wing can’t chip in with a few.
Need to take jack clark as an example where you cut in and shoot. Need to do more training to get more accurate shots on goals

Possibly

Getting better every game--snatched at a couple of shots but hopefully confidence grows.
If he can improve upper body strength it will make him a real threat. Hope He takes his opportunity to encourage other Young uns on the production line
Rigg and Jobe look much bigger and stronger this season so I'm sure they can work on this with Watson
Great game tonight

I won’t be a hypocrite but Tuesday gone I thought it looked like too big a step up for the lad, but against Sheff United who are current.y the top side he looked the best player on the pitch for me other than their lad Hamer who has bags of experience in comparison. Now we have seen what Watson can do we can only hope this is the beginning of a great run for the lad similar to that of the other young players such as Rigg,Bellingham etc. Teams will look at how well Watson performed last night and he will be targeted for extra attention, which for the team is a good thing.
