1st TEST :: New Zealand v England

It’s still amateur. There was always a chance given Smith wasn’t going, and they took only 1 specialist keeper.
I'm guessing that his passport probably doesn't expire till then next year, but you need 3 months left on it when leaving a country.

But surely as soon as he came back from a successful lions tour in India. You'd be thinking I might be in with a chance of an England callup for Pakistan if not before.

Maybe I might get a white ball overseas deal if I have a great blast/hundred season

I'm 25 so why not get a new year 10 year passport to cover me up until I retire

Well yes. Quite

Solid experienced Test side there you'd say. Just a couple I'm not familiar with. Should have more than enough for our rag tag bunch of hunch picks and white ball sloggers
I assume Smith and O'Rourke?

Smith is just about to make his test debut after only just making his international debut the other week. Had a really good summer with Worcestershire and that's got him his call up to national team.

O'Rourke played 7 tests now only debuted earlier this year. He looks a handful and so is his head it's gigantic!

Joking aside on O'Rourkes heed. Him and Henry will be formidable on a green spring pitch.

I also wouldn't put it past Southee from having a swansong after looking finished for a while now.

Surprised they have gone for Phillips ahead of Santner after his form in India. Although he was the 2nd spinner in theory.
Not really. You rarely need a frontline spinner in NZ.

It's also the earliest game NZ have played at home in a number of years.

We effectively playing in May, will be green and seamers dream, not really sure why we've picked Bashir could be a bit of a spare part.

It was also a performance of his life from Santner he's not that good at red ball.

I think we'll win this series despite the wicket keeping dramas that the media are enjoying.

Stokes will be back in form as well I hope.

Incredible consistency

Didn't have it down for before the series even started mind
In every guise he's been on this forum he can't help but react.

They are very ban hammer happy at the moment for minor stuff IMO.

I wasn't able to to post on the 3rd Pakistan test match thread for what I thought was nowt

He's already been banned again. Went to tag him in this as the captain is talking about golf again

I can't tell if they know people are criticising them about the golf thing so they play up to it or what.

Mentions the golf and slapdash preparations in here:

I was supportive of Bazball to begin with but it's feeling more and more amateur by the day. All on gut feeling and hunches rather than hard work and track records.

Still, I hope they win the series and shut some of the doubters up

#vibes
NZ at evens looks like a bet here. I'd have them circa 8/13.

Where are you getting Evens? Best I’ve seen is 10/11.

Do they also use the ‘little wheel’ to make their Test selections and batting orders?
