Jack Clarke

His agent has totally fucked him over like 😆😆 couldn’t happen to a nicer tosser than Hartey. Won’t be getting too many clients in future I’d imagine.
Utterly ridiculous take. His agent got himself and his client an excellent financial deal. They got what they wanted. Clarke was in the strongest position he is ever likely to be in when negotiating a contract. His agent made a packet for himself and his client. Foolish to think Harte will struggle for clients, he is actually doing very well.

Only time I’d seen Ipswich this season prior to today was when they played Villa and he had a really good game that day. Seems a bit odd from the outside looking in that he hasn’t had more chances from the start but McKenna obviously knows what he’s doing.

McKenna has won 1 game out of 12. He's the emperor's new clothes.

He did score home and away against Fulham in the cup, though. I dunno why people use the mag game as a referendum on Clarke, he was our only potential threat, we had Pritchard on the right and Rusyn up front.
I think it's just in the build up people were going on about how much damage Clarke was going to do etc.

He never lifted a leg. Winking at the Newcastle fans, and generally contributing to one of the most bizarre days in recent memory.

That game still doesn't seem like it really happened. Like an odd dream for all.

Cracking player who will become a very good Premier League player

Was absolutely tremendous for us and hopefully becomes as good as I hope with Ipswich 👌

Feel for the lad, got his Prem move and nothing else. When he does play, he's being played inside rather than out wide, just seems that he doesn't suit McKennas tactics, which begs the question why did he buy him?

Harte is at least 90% behind this move imo, wanted his payday and sadly Jack will be back in the Championship next season, as there's nothing to show from his performances so that he'll go to another prem club in the summer.

If all you’re interested in is money maybe. If you want a good move for your career, Clarke to Ipswich ain’t it.

Perhaps he found his niche with us. Perhaps he is not being used in the way he wants by his manager. (he would not be the first player whose career has been failed by being played out of their preferred position)

He was loved here and looked great. His move looks like it was the wrong one.

But let’s get this into perspective, he was with us for two seasons.

I’m not going to get sentimental about someone who did 2 seasons for us.

Clarke is not even playing in his position, he is playing in Szmodics spot, seems his only game time is when Szmodics is running out of steam (at 65 mins yesterday).

Exactly, my ex brother in law signed for us on professional terms was played out of position and ended up at Leeds where the same thing happened.

Got bumped to Blyth Spartans and continued to decline through the leagues.

He blamed it all on Sunderland. Mind he was a mag. A hard nasty get anarl.

There’s some re-writing of history going on here like. He was by far our best player for 2 seasons, excluding a top class loan

Truth is he was part of a better looking team this season before he left, one that was not so dependent on him.
To suggest we are a better team without him is crazy if you use those first games this season as a reference. The lads in his position are good but not that good yet.

Not sure about that. Leeds,Spurs,Sunderland,Ipswich, he's had opportunities to really shine as he did with us, but go to a lower end PL club who struggle and you rapidly become yesterday's man. Interesting that none of the upper end clubs wanted him. Still, he'll end up having a lucrative career and good luck to him, he gave us at Sunderland some memorable moments.

I watched the game only because he and Amad were playing -young lads who were great for us and I enjoyed watching when here.
You are right -nowt to do with us now -but wouldn’t have tuned in otherwise
Not sure if it’s odd but hey ho

I like following our old boys. To this day liked watching Everton for Pickford for example
Take notice. Our best player struggling to make a dent for a lower prem club.

The gap between leagues is huge.

I always used to worry about that but then players would confound me by stepping up when we got promoted. Reid’s 2nd promotion team and Keanos promotion team proved that it’s about the team, and if you are stepping up within the same team it’s easier than a new club, new system etc

You’ve a real issue with us don’t you. Did we cost you an accumulator last season or something?

McKenna has taken us from 11th in League 1 to the premier league in three seasons with a total transfer spend of 5m. We’ve then spent this summer admittedly but have found our feet and getting results to match plenty of excellent performances.

Most neutrals thought we were the better team today against man United after an away win at spurs who’ve just gone and tonked Man City 4-0 themselves.

I know you’re desperate to be relegated based on other conversations on other threads. I can only assume maybe us going up annoyed you enough for you to be willing us to be rubbish every week. When in reality we’re giving it a right good go. We’ve a decent run of fixtures now until Christmas so hopefully some performances like today will get some wins.

Why are you even on here

I think his time at Ipswich may haunt him more than his old Spurs experience. Ipswich fans really don't like him so far. Not being good enough for a shit Premier League team won't be getting him any more moves up there when Ipswich are relegated
My Ipswich supporting mate reckons he's not up to it. Just not played well enough when given the opportunity to warrant a place. His words;

"Runs about a lot, but doesn't do much with the ball when he's on it."

They don't play to his strengths
