Chris Rigg

I can see 4 going in the summer if we don’t go up probably bring in around £80 million

Agreed i reckon those at the top will be looking to cash in.

Could definitely see Rigg, Jobe and Cirkin going.

Really hope we go up this season, obviously. Would love to see this group of players having a crack at the Prem with us. And if it goes tits up then we should get more money for them.

And two of them are going into the last 12 months of their contracts in the summer if no new deal is signed both be sold
Rigg signed 3 year deal in the summer. Jobe signed on for a further 4 years.

Cirkin and Neil will only have a year left in the summer unless we sort something before then. Hopefully that's in the pipeline.

Jobe Cirkin Rigg sold and we won't be able to afford Mepham or Isidor

we'll have a bit of cash in the bank mind....
Haven't we already agreed a fee of around £4m? I think he'll be here next season regardless imo

Is there a club option of another year? A lot of our renewals recently seem to have this clause in - hopefully it's the case here

It's just negative bollocks.

We are a selling club for the right price. See Stewart and Clarke but sold a year apart.

Can't expect these lads to hang around if clubs further up the ladder come calling, especially some of the clubs mentioned.

Premier League football with us would keep a lid on some of the lads ambitions, but if we're still in the Championship next season, I suppose the big money sales from the likes of 2 or 3 of our wonderkids is to be expected.

He would never get a start at Chelsea, or any other big club, mebbe a few sub appearances if he's lucky,

Or go out on loan for a couple of years...

Or just stay here where he is developing his game, getting lots of playing time and is in the England setup. At his age, money is unlikely to be a major consideration.
Only have to look at Dewsbury-Hall to see why going to Chelsea or alike is a bad idea. He went from regular football at Leicester to just 10 apps for Chelsea so far mainly in european conference league games where they seem to be playing mainly a second string.
Expand and explain please!
Relates to this.....

They changed the rules to stop the long contracts Chelsea were using to spread their stupid transfer spending over loads of years to play FFP rules. The fee is spread over the length of the contract for FFP spending rules so longer contracts meant lower figures each year to stay inside the rules. They closed this option off by limiting it to 5 years.

It simply depends on the players ambition.

If he wants big bucks now he leaves. If he actually wants a productive and enjoyable career he should wait for the right opportunity. Dewsbury Hall and Clarke seem to have wanted the money with little thought as to which club the were going too.

Dewsbury isn't really young and followed his old boss so it's a different comparison

I doubt either player would say it was a bad idea, both getting minutes in the Premier League and both on significant pay rises.

End of the day, for either player mentioned the absolute worst case scenario is that they end up back in the Championship, and even then, probably on more money and playing first team football for a club that are challenging for promotion.

Think it's easy for us armchair fans to shout about ambition and how young players could wait, but sometimes you've just got to grasp an opportunity when it comes along as nothing is guaranteed.

Not many mins....his premier league pitch time amounts to 44 mins so far this season in 3 sub appearances all about a month apart each time.

I may be wrong but Rigg doesnt strike me as the type where he would be moving for the pay day...he strikes me as one that will want to be featuring on a regular basis to continue developing.
