Nissan

You can’t take standowns unpaid. If you have a holiday in for the dates, you can’t take them out. It’s in the company’s terms and conditions that you agreed to when you sign your contract. There only allowed to give us 7, but you only have to pay 6 half shifts back
You can take them unpaid, and it’s 5.25 hours overtime to pay a full shift back. Not a half shift.

Keep hearing stand downs mentioned on here . What's the legality of these. Thought if you were contracted to so many hours you had to be payed for them without owing any hours back .
Stand downs prevent unpaid lay offs which the company would be perfectly entitled to do under the current terms and conditions(it wouldn’t suit them due to staff retention but they could do it). The limited stand downs are also in the current terms and conditions .

Nissan and Vauxhall meeting with government ministers on Wednesday. To ask for help or threatening job cuts . Vauxhall threatening to pull production from UK. Nissan threatening to do similar. Something has to give on Wednesday.

Not sure how much can be done if cars aren’t selling, Nissan also have problems in other parts of the world, sales dropped massively in china and potential tariff coming in the states, so their problems spread a lot wider than just these shores, same applies to many other makers too like
A lot of people will just be thinking maybe not renew cars and get more years out of existing ones until uncertainty over leccy cars is resolved regarding infrastructure and price etc

They'll ask for money and probably get it . They have in the past . Last night 1 of reasons prime example for lack of electric vehicles sales haven't exploded . Freezing 🥶 cold and snow showers . Do u choose garage under a roof 5 mins fill up pay and away . Or possibly queue for an electric charging unit
Then connect electric charging cable braving the weather and sit in car 30 mins waiting for it to charge up .
They will ask for money/ help
on Wednesday and get it
Labour Government will help them over this difficult transitional period

There's a lack of EV chargers on site which tells its own story. If you counted them there isn't many at all
So a company that goes to the govt begging for money moaning about the change to EV's cannot be arsed/too stingy to provide enough chargers for its own worker force.Incredible
