Nissan

I worked in an office and we had a phantom shitter. Also when I went to Middleton in Teesdale on holidays with school they struck again (Not the same one). Must be an affliction or fascination experienced by some people.
We had one in the path lab. Used to shit in the bin for paper towels instead of the pot. Seems like every workplace has one!

So let me get this right... ...sales figures change everything within the space of a few months, but they can also confidently predict the next three years to bring in a shorter week.

It would be the same hours worked in 5 days just condensed. Big savings on overtime, energy etc. The issue would be the supply chain following suit.

Nae idea what kind of shift patterns they do. How would they fit those ten hour shifts in without them being incredibly unsocial hours?

Where do you add the extra couple of hours a day without making folk get up or get home at silly o clock just to save shareholders a few quid?

From what I've heard/read, the job is fairly tough and rubbish for having a life as it is

That 'extra' day is just going to be a day spent in bed. Sounds utterly miserable

The hours are already silly mate. A late shift finishes just before 1am and they have the option to put an hours overtime on that whenever they feel like it as well.

Those four days, your employer is your entire life. May as well work on the rigs or something similar and make better money.

Ten hour shift after midnight and probably an early shift getting in at least 6am or something. May as well sell your gaff and sleep in the staff room.

Compressed hours a real slog according to people I know who do it, and these aren’t people working a demanding and physical job like Nissan people work. By the 5th day I’d imagine wiped out and just sleep

When it's busy and there's an hour's overtime during the week it catches up to you. The extra moneys nice but the extra hour takes its toll.

It would have to be days/nights pattern and something radge like 9-7 days and 8-6 nights for it to work. Don’t think they would want to give people an increase in their shift premium so it will probably be a non starter.

you’ll not get a 4 day week as there will be no provision to call standowns. Standowns only happen on a Friday because there a shorter shift length.

Only way that’ll work is if they go back to the old 2 weeks day/ 2 weeks nights which was less shift premium than 3 & 4 shifts
