*~*~* Preston v Sunderland match thread *~*~*

I think he'll be a useful squad player. I don't see him as a starter though.
i think the shirt is Isidors right enough but we have to get Connolly first team sharp to play 20 minute cameos . To do that he needs first team minutes , U21 wont help other than cardio. Such a competitive league makes it difficult

You post the same boring rubbish every week
The fact he divides opinion so much should give you an idea that a lot don’t rate him
You are either blind or dim , maybe both
It’s a forum with alternative opinions , if you can’t handle alternative opinions to your own maybe it’s a reflection of your character?
Just a thought

He doesn’t divide opinion though. The vast majority realize he’s a very good young player, a few idiots have an obsession with slagging him off.

You’ve convinced yourself it’s widespread, it’s really just a couple of people on the internet.

I agree with the fact that our league position means giving fringe players minutes is hard, but thats where the 5 subs and in game management should come into it.

For me, Connolly benefits more from coming off the bench, after defenders have had Wilson to contend with or Roberts and Mundle running at them. You clearly like the lad, and I think he'll be useful and pop up with the odd goal, but I just don't see him as someone who's going to be a first name on the team sheet.

Cannot knock the points total so far and overall performances

Something struck me on today’s game , when either team played a goal kick there was virtually no one in tbe opposition half. Maybe sometimes it would be good to mix it up and play a little more direct

Think the manager was hoping roberts and mindless would turn the game, roberts look threatening

RLB wrong as well then? He has him captain and starting every week for a side top of the league.

Rather follow his opinion than yours.
Been carried for weeks , other than a decent game v Oxford he’s been poor & very fortunate to keep his place
Take ya rose tinted specs off mate
Will back RLB over you tbh 🫡
He got the formation wrong tonight

You say he’s been lucky to keep his place but who would have come in?

nah i can agree with that , i just see bits in him that might get us one or two important ones. IF we can get him match ready.

I'd certainly like to see him bag 1 or two soon enough. I've no doubt he'll pop up with an important goal or two as the season goes on.

That’s why you have a squad mate
So your reasoning is continue to play someone that is out of form hoping they come good ?
An “out of form” (utter bullshit btw) Dan Neil is probably better than an in form Aleksic and what we’ve seen of Alan Browne an “out of form” Dan Neil is better than him and all.
