*~*~* Preston v Sunderland match thread *~*~*

Aye, think RLB got that one wrong unfortunately.

Probably yes, but whilst I wouldn't have moved Isidor for Connolly then I think Mundle's form hasn't been great even though he's contributed in moments.

We've probably not got the depth, but also maybe not used the bench as often as we should so far this season.

They're always up for it against us but hopefully that loss for them tonight knocks some confidence out of them, derby's first away win I think
They keep giving teams head starts by the looks of it, if we can get at them early we’ll be fine.

RLB got his starting 11 wrong, and it showed once he brought Roberts and Mundle back on with Isador upfront. Maybe it would have been a different outcome if he had started with his tried and tested first 11, but I suppose you've got to give these things a go to find out if it works. Shame as I think Preston were there for the taking tbh.

Still, a point away and a clean sheet from a display sadly lacking in the kind of quality we've come to expect from the lads. We'll take it, and there's a chance to put things right come Saturday at home to a Coventry side that look all over the place atm.
Reggie said it will take 3 games to gel the replacements

Agreed.

Hopefully once everyone is back we might see a difference.

He hasn't
Of the midfield 3 only Neil impacted on the game as he sat in front of the back four, tackled, passed and recycled the ball. We had no control of the game whatsoever as Browne had an off night and Rigg was bizarrely trying to press their back four and had no connection at all with Neil and Hume at right back. Strange tactics. We were lost until they tired and Roberts brought danger with every touch.
