Dreadful to say the least.Remember when Stokes used to be one of our best batters. Liability at the moment.
A defeat this big is probably going to force a bit of an inquiry afterwards which isn’t a bad thing.
My lunch prediction is looking bang on, I see.
Is this the thickest and most spineless England side in living memory?
Genuinely, they learn absolutely nothing from innings to innings and game to game, nor have they any fight whatsoever when the going gets tough.
……and won’t happen, ECB are fully invested in McCullum, McCullum and Stokes are adamant regarding their style of play, this only leaves team selection and what options do we have?A defeat this big is probably going to force a bit of an inquiry afterwards which isn’t a bad thing.
Yeah I agree it’s not down to fight, it’s down to not been able to play quality spinners in alien conditionsI’m not sure I agree with you there. They’ve won many matches from seemingly Un winnable positions since the change of regime.
We clearly have a huge problem on spinning pitches and certain individuals are massively out of form, but I don’t think it’s fair to say they have no fight.

Yeah and when Somerset did produce them pitches you seen what happened all teams struggled massively. The only ground in this country that regularly has spinning pitches is Somerset and they get fined by the ECB for creating them, so there’s no surprise that we don’t produce batters that can play it.
In the grand scheme of things, is it terrible that we can’t win in these conditions? As an England test cricketer, there’s only 1 thing that matters really and that’s beating the Aussies once every 2 years.
When did they last show some fight?
Yeah and when Somerset did produce them pitches you seen what happened all teams struggled massively.
Because our players not used it, apart from when Cooks team won in India.
We have always found playing in India and Pakistan very very difficult and when them countries produce big turning wickets we have struggled, both pre and during this regime and not doubt in the future too?
Not sure what the answer is tbh, would a different selection made a difference?
Would a different style made a diffrence?
Personally I don’t think soo, once Pakistan decided to produce big turners with our lack of quality spinners we were always going to struggle imo
Yeah there is certainly a argument they could have showed more fight at times and dug in more. They won the 1st test despite being 500 and odd behind after the Pakistan 1st innings. Both Root and Brook were having cramps for most of their innings against brutal heat.
That’s it, our spinners aren’t great because they don’t get the chance to play on spinning pitches much. That’s just a consequence of their environment.
We could’ve picked the 11 best players for the conditions, but that’s not how forging a team works.
