*~*~* Luton v Sunderland match thread *~*~*

That is one of our best wins in years.

Tough place to go, they put you under relentless physical pressure, coming off the back of an away win at another difficult place to go (Burnley couldn't do it), one days less rest as well.

Its an utterly brilliant win and to get 6 pts from two away games in the championship is immense. Back that up on Saturday and then away at struggling QPR and we could be sitting pretty.
Ah hello hope my old friend…………. 🤣

I had tickets to a show booked before the fixtures, so missed this one. Reading the comments, looks like I missed a good one.

We have a very healthy lead over 7th place now.

You missed us getting aerially bombarded without getting out our penalty area for 45 mins but scoring two beautiful goals when it mattered.

This seems like the 4th or 5th game recently we have won but never really seemed like we were really in control. I'm not moaning but it's kind of odd. Like we find a way which is only a good thing I guess.
We bossed the game against Hull for pretty much all of the first half then from our goal until the end.

With the ref allowing Luton to foul all the time we were never going to boss tonights game. We still showed them how to play football though 😎

I think Muhammad Ali, would have called that performance 'Rope a dope'...

Either that or the flying squad have been called for a robbery

Brilliant

Just a question, are refs told when the officiate Luton, that a more lenient interpretation of the laws of the game have to be used?

Thankfully our squad now is far superior to that squad.
We look solid and even gave housery back to Luton. Which wound them up even more. Patterson time wasting chuckled me

I don't like to see any keeper time wasting, hate it when others do it, so can't exactly enjoy it when we do it.

Sort of thing that bites you on the backside when the ref adds 10mins on at the end

Haven't seen many people mention Bellingham tonight

I didn’t think any of the midfielders had brilliant games tonight to be honest. But that’s got more to do with the fact Luton deliberately took the middle of the pitch out of the game, than it has the players. Hard for midfielders to play a big role in a game of head tennis.

Brilliant performance. A crazy game, as difficult as it will get for our young lads all season. Massive character test which we passed with flying colours. Luton, Watford, Plymouth away are harder games than Leeds, Burnley and Sheffield United

For me their offside goal, which was the player ducking that was in front of patto earlier in the move.

Makes up from the handball in the playoff game when the ball was crossed and hit their players arm and the goalie had to save it and put it behind for a corner.

Chris Iwelumo only makes 3 mistakes on the highlights 😂

First he says superb touch by Morris. Luke O'Nien actually took the pace out of the ball and it just hit him and dropped.

Then he says never offside. Aye well if you completely discount the Luton player who's 3 yards offside moving towards the ball and trying to head it then maybe not.

Then he says Hume fouls in the build up to the 2nd goal. It's a beautiful sliding tackle.

Bitter Jock nobhead.
