that chalk stream looked amazing and I am trying to find out how to get a a day ticket next year!

the section they were fishing is owned by a syndicate so day tickets only come up every now and then
pretty sure this was the section they were fishing

The Kennet down this way is a Chalk Stream.
My first thoughts being an Angler was predators. Otters and Cormorants will play havoc in those clear waters.
Went Pike fishing Friday afternoon and this bastard Cormorant was as bold and brave as anything. Literally 30 feet away and wasn’t intimidated by me one bit.
Was more concerned of if diving deep and getting my dead bait.

Very strange I caught a Common Carp on a sardine.

Definitely Mate.
This Reservoir is packed with big Carp and easy to catch. Anglers come from all over the Country to fish it as well as stage matches.
400lb weights are common.

Not my style of fishing and fish it for Pike.
It is a vast water and a lovely walk around it with the dog. The amount of bait that goes in feeds up the fish.

I use plenty of fish based baits for Chub and Barbel.

On a lighter note an old lady actually took the pictures. I had just weighed the fish when She was walking by. “Bloody hell that’s a big one.”
Time and place 🤣🤣🎣

There are definitely bigger ones in there. Vast water and given me the drive to go again.

Wife (No) took the one with the dog.
