that their main forum? Hardly any replies on most subjects
It was a Southamton fan that came up with the following (shite) joke.

> Have you ever watched a match at Old Trafford?
> Have you ever visited the City of Manchester?
> Have you ever seen Man. Utd. play even on television?
>
> If the answer is no to all the above, then you too can be a true, loyal Man. Utd. fan.

The Man. Utd. fans did their homework and managed to show that they were actually second to Southampton as regards the number of non-local fans never visiting the city and claiming to support the side.

I'm thus not surprised Southampton's forum is like the Marie Celeste.
He's played 106 minutes of football for them. They're not at all happy with both him and the club.

So he's become their version of Shaun Cunnington or Jack Rodwell? 🤣

Way over that - at least double, probably significantly more than that. So'ton had parachute money.

If he was only looking for £10kpw, we'd have given him it ages ago.
aye the usual thing is if its a £10mn fee and his contract os three years..then his wages are £10mn over three years..

Jason wilcox was DOF at southampton when they bought him..the matser negotiator is now at man utd

Played pretty much every minute of promotion season, and simply wanted what he was worth.
That he got seemingly terminally injured and we would not pay him what he wanted made it an easy decision to sell him and the correct decision.
Lets not he cynical and disingenuous, more than any player he contributed to us being out of the hell hole which was the 1st Division. He should be lauded on here for that alone.
He is, without him we’d probably still be in league one or at least would have been there longer. His all too brief championship run showed he is at least capable of being a top player at this level and probably at least decent at premier league squad level.
Sadly that now looks unlikely and whilst I’m sad he’s been denied that opportunity I’m pleased it didn’t also rob him of his big contract that was thoroughly deserved.

The transfer fee has fuck all to do with the wages being paid.

God help anyone signing on a free transfer if that’s the case

Not sure why some of them are having a pop at Sunderland. It wasn’t like we were hiding any injury. They took a gamble.

That said, I have been critical of Speakman but it does look good business for safc with the benefit of hindsight.
This 👆it was a great bit of business for us but I think some perspective is needed in the adoration for the lad. He was at the club for 5 minutes and banged in a few goals but we have had hundreds of other players who have done far more for the Club albeit in different circumstances . I wish the lad all the best but I find myself somewhat lacking in my view of the lad compared to some people on here.
