Who would have thought it.... A country who abuse the 50 over first class circuit are now shit at international level...

What happens overseas is their concernIt’s a worldwide trend no top players in any country play domestic 50 over cricket.
As the top players play the T20 franchise circuit not 50 over domestically.
It is a problem but to just say it happens in England is incorrect
Unfortunately since the invent of T20 becoming extremely popular 50 over cricket domestically has become a second priority for ever country. What happens overseas is their concern
In England in a few years time we shall see the 16.4 has caused untold damage to both the test and 50 over team for England
We’ve gone from holding both titles to dismal level and it’s all come when the 16.4 is played
Don’t think soUnfortunately since the invent of T20 becoming extremely popular 50 over cricket domestically has become a second priority for ever country.
If the hundred didn’t happen them top players would have just gone abroad and played in other franchise T20 leagues like the new one in America and still not played domestic 50 over cricketDon’t think so
Only one country in the world playing a game in the peak period of their summer
Pre 16.4 England were world champions in both formats
Now we are ranked lowly and will fall further
I’m having no more to say as I can be arsed on a tit for tat argument
You disagree I’ll never change that
This. It's a T20 side. You need a few batsmen who can steady the ship. Why is Bairstow not in this squad he’s miles better than anyone else in that top 4.
Hain should also be there if they aren’t gonna play Root but they are obsessed with selecting sloggers - Brooks comments the other day sum up everything wrong with the side at the moment
You can’t know thatIf the hundred didn’t happen them top players would have just gone abroad and played in other franchise T20 leagues like the new one in America and still not played domestic 50 over cricket
Like I say no top players in all countries in this modern world play domestic 50 over cricket
That a different argument I agree the hundred been disappointing as overseas players been low quality with you there. You can’t know that
As I said I’m not playing tit for tat here
The hundred is ruining cricket in England. Nobody cares one iota who wins and this summers was a poor spectacle
Virtually no overseas stars and a million miles from the promised best v best
No other country is even contemplating that format
Where are all these investors supposedly gagging to buy in?
Hopefully the investors in the hundred demand to change the tournament to T20 to mirror all the other tournaments around the world.I’m not bothered about other countries
The governing body of England and Wales have created a tournament that nobody else plays and it’s going to ruin England at test, odi and t20 level which the whole world plays
That’s my point here , a really simple one , so let’s leave it there
Totally agree but I doubt the investors are out thereHopefully the investors in the hundred demand to change the tournament to T20 to mirror all the other tournaments around the world.
Should have been T20 in the first place not 100 balls
Guess time will tell mateTotally agree but I doubt the investors are out there
All to be seen
Interested in the thoughts on ODIs, above. I wonder if anyone else shares my creeping sense of disinterest in the 50 over game?
I used to defend 50 over cricket forcibly, arguing that the longer format (than t20) allowed for tactical twists and contrasting phases in a match. But, lately, I’m finding ODIs are neither one thing or the other, a stodgy in-between world between t20s and tests.
I still despair over England’s batting, though. And The Hundreds are pap, of course.
That’s good. I seem to be losing the feel for the ODIs somehow, though I love test cricket.50 over games are a fairer contest between bat and ball. I celebrated the 2019 WC win more than I did either of the T20 ones tbh. I prefer a full day at the cricket tbh, a 4 hour T20 game goes too quick.
