Flying drones over Sunderland

Some very good footage there bud, the DJI drones are fantastic bits of kit. Im charging mine up soon and getting it back out after the winter laydown, looking forward to it as its always great fun, more so looking back at the footage.

In what way? The obstacle avoidance doesn't work in the dark. I have the same one, my second after i crashed the first.
Was complaining about poor light (obviously),took ages to find GPS and home. it didn't seem to connect properly. Didn't take the chance

It does some great stuff with very little input from me. Some features I still haven't used but I'm learning all the time.

I was productive yesterday and will hoy some video on the Sheepfolds and Bridge threads when I get a chance to edit the footage.
For now here's some footage of the most sought after penthouse suites in the country.

Took this one on Saturday. Hadn't intended flying round the lighthouse but struck lucky with timing. This is just a low res one but I might consider framing the proper one.

I'll put this on here instead of derailing the footbridge thread but my drone controller broke last week (terrible timing).
Posted it off for repair on Friday morning. Phone call today saying they would fix it free of charge within 2-3 business days. Disappointed in it breaking but can't fault the service.
Would have been slightly upset had I received this bill.

When you get it up again, see if you can get any shots of the new ticket office as it's supposed to be opening soon

Brand new controller turned up today. Can't complain about the service. Wish I could remember how to turn the volume down on it. Had to Google it when I got home. Half the town could hear it.

DJI are great. I had the original mini. It was excellent and dead easy to use.

It’s under 250g so there are less restrictions on where you can fly.
cheers mate, think the only criticism is doesnt have obstruction sensors so think i would to practice in open spaces for a while to build up some confidence

This might sound a bit flippant from someone who has crashed twice recently but I don't think they are vital for everyday use as you tend to be high enough in the air that you aren't going to hit anything. It's when you try and be a smart arse like me and fly in tight spaces in the dark that you have issues.
But best to practice in open spaces for a while anyway.
Not used that specific model but DJI are quality and at that price you can't go wrong.

I doubt i'll be doing anything as intense as those fly through videos like at the Dallas Cowboys training facility, or Fenway Park for the baseball, but be good to use and play around with, and I think its an ok budget to start with

Surely there’s more restrictions in reality?

Anyway, have a read of this too.
