Chris Rigg

Nothing we can do about his eventual move but plenty we can do to postpone that day - by of course playing him as often as possible. No substitute for playing and the lad is right if he is happy ATM and realises that his time and his money will come.

Be interesting if, given the choice, he chooses to play abroad or in the PL? No contest of course if Real Madrid come calling.

How much do you think we’ll get off
Him then?
Not interested in discussing - the lad needs to be left alone as he’s in the right place for the next couple of seasons, especially if we go up
He will, as long as he doesn’t have misfortune with a bad injury, go on to play at the very top level in a few years time and his value will be many multiples of JC

Not disputing the talent part but we’ll see regarding his fee. Hope you’re right

Real Madrid signed Endrick and Vinicius at 16 for more than €45m each, same with Rodrygo aged 17. Mbappe moved to PSG at 18 for €180m, although was stated as a loan for FFP reasons until a year later.

Not saying those are comparable to what we'd get but the £40m paid for Archie Gray this summer certainly is.
Endrick - €35m at 18. Move was agreed with the family when he was 16, but he didn’t move until he was 18, which is when the transfer fee was paid. Vinicius was similar and was €45m at 18. Rodrygo the same I.e. €45m at 18. Mbappe moved on loan at 18, and was signed permanently at 19 which is when the transfer fee was paid. The global record paid for a 17 year old is £25m for Bellingham, the global record paid for an 18 year old is €45m shared by Vinicius and Rodrygo. These are FIFA published records.

If he moves for anything over £25m before the middle of June, then he would be the most expensive 17 year old in football history.

From a business perspective it would be bad if we sold him to a club like Liverpool or City where he could stay for life a la Henderson. We need to sell him to a club like Dortmund or Brighton, with a huge sell on clause, then get another wedge of money a couple of years later. Anyway, it’s all for another day. If we stay top 6 this season then he will stay in January. If we go up, then hopefully he’ll stay for at least one season in the PL.

Not yet, we need to keep him, get promoted, consolidate in the PL and then let's see

We’re getting 80 million man 😂😂😂

As usual loads of our fans will spend the whole time he is here fantasising about his eventual departure and not be able to just enjoy it. Absolute idiocy imo but more fool them.
Could not put it better… we have fans bouncing up and down with the charge that we are a selling club… the same fans then fantasise about selling players for huge sums. Let’s just enjoy watching our young players and look to progressing with them.
Think he might be sold in the summer but loaned back for 12 months. I think that would work all round.
How about … get promoted and he stays long term…drooling over selling our assets is ridiculous.
