David Bedingham


I don't think we'll see too much more of Bedingham this season. He is away with SA for the test series in West Indies now, and he has now been named in South Africa A squad for three one day games against Sri Lanka A between 31/8/24 and 4/9/24.

Had just seen this. That's a blow as I was hoping we'd get him back for Surrey.

Hopefully he will be allowed to leave after 1 or 2 games and fly straight to London to play.
 
First test starts tomorrow on TNT sport.

Hopefully will get to see him in action.
SA batting first and Bedingham plays so he will probably bat at some point today.

He's been in the squad since the beginning of August. It's nothing new.

So slightly confused why he flew back to the UK for less than a week, rather than just going to South Africa.

I hope it means we're going to get use of for this game and the Surrey QF.

Just checking 2025 and it looks like the only international cricket South Africa play during our domestic summer is in this country against England in September.
Although if he cracks it with SA on the international one day stage then he could become a target for franchise cricket. I feel sometimes it just takes one good ODI or t20 series at the right time and suddenly you get picked up for big money.
