Chris Rigg

Exactly

Like Clarke was 30mil eh 😂

Yeah he is similar to Foden but is he chuff on a par with him at that age ffs
Rigg is a similar build as Foden but a totally different player. Phil is a 10 or pays wide. Rigg is a classic box to box midfielder, it's a harder role to play because of extra responsibility defensively not just in attack.

£40M Archie Gray didn't even win Leeds player of the year. Summerville and Ethan Ampadu were both ahead of him.

Rigg is easily our best player at 17 and we are top, unbeaten and Leeds only made the play offs.

Will Rigg eclipse Foden or even Gazza? We'll see.

Whatever the championship transfer record is, it’ll be broken next summer for this lad.

If he keeps playing the way he is, and continues to improve at the same time, most of the top clubs in Europe will want him
We won't be in the championship next summer.

A few you expecting HMS Pisstheleage to spring a leak? 😢

When do you see clubs bid for players that have just signed a new contract?

Given that Rigg has just turned 17 and putting in performances like this, I think the hype is very much warranted. He'll be on the radar of every big club in the world come January, if he's not already.
You think posts saying he's second to Messi at 17, better than Rooney, should turn down Man U to stay at Sunderland, and he's worth £100m are warranted?

It’s a hypothetical conversation about where is best for a young player. I think Man Utd (and Chelsea) would be poor decisions. It’s not really about his ability

I agree some of the chat is OTT. Saying he’d be in the senior team if he was a PL player or he’s akin to Rooney at 17 is over the top

My senses tell me Jobe will have black hair
That's all I'm saying mate. I think he's class and has bags of potential, and probably will go for big money eventually.

Just some of this chat is delusional IMO.

I've watched Sunderland for over 45 years and I've never seen a 17 year old like Chris Rigg.

He's made 3 out of 4 starts in August and easily won player of the month for a side top of the league.

He has the potential to be out best home grown player since Raich Carter nearly a 100 years ago.

That's how special a talent he is.

😂😂😂

Mate people are comparing him to Wayne Rooney, Jude Bellingham and f***ing Lionel Messi man, these are world class footballers and arguably the best footballer of all time.

Chris Rigg is very, very good and has a high ceiling but a good start to a championship season as you’ve put it does not put him anywhere near there league yet 😂

Jordan Henderson at the same age was doing Skill School on Soccer AM. Rigg is running games in the Championship. Love Jordan and he has had an outstanding and i mean outstanding career but Rigg is on a different level trajectory wise.

I can see the Hendo argument, not sure I fully agree but it’s a fair point.

Rooney. Messi and Jude, Haway man 😂

Comparisons would be fair enough but they’re saying he’s better than them!

Blessing in disguise for the lad. The attention and standard he is held to is always more than it should be cos of who his brother is. He's just turned 18 man. He has started this season like an absolute monster.
And for Dan Neil.... Who was the second coming last season, had every club in Europe watching him, and we were bracing for massive bids to lure him away

This board man.

Not sure I'd class two posts on here as reflective of the general hype around him tbf.

I do think he'd be wise to turn down a move to Man United though given the state that club is in. I don't think that's a silly opinion.

High praise indeed that like mate.

Might be slightly over the top but fair play

I said he’s the best I’ve seen for Sunderland like you’ve upped the game a bit there haha

What can I say mate, I’m all aboard the Riggsy hype train. I’ll reign it in so we can keep him longer than we’re meant to.

He's some talent and the usual mob fail to see it.
In a recent match ( might of been Cardiff)he was tracking back and it looked like he was about to put in a tackle. He didn't and the tackle would have been late. It's these minor details in his descision making that put him ahead of his peers, and that's just one area of his game.
He maybe the best talent to come out of the AOL so far.
